I'm comfortable with topical, oral, and eye medication. I've used all three with my own cats for regular preventive care, and when Maple came to us she had a bad upper respiratory infection so I got a lot of practice early on. If your cat needs medication, no worries at all.
I'm happy to follow whatever specific instructions you have for your cat's feeding, enrichment, and care. If they like to play I'll get some playtime in... Hi, I'm Sydney! I've loved cats my whole life and I've been cat sitting on Meowtel since 2023. Before that, I fostered for my local shelter, which is where I really got to learn how different every cat is and how to help nervous ones feel comfortable. At home I have two cats of my own, Danny (5) and Maple (3), who I've had since they were little.
I'm comfortable with topical, oral, and eye medication. I've used all three with my own cats for regular preventive care, and when Maple came to us she had a bad upper respiratory infection so I got a lot of practice early on. If your cat needs medication, no worries at all.
I'm happy to follow whatever specific instructions you have for your cat's feeding, enrichment, and care. If they like to play I'll get some playtime in. If they're a cuddle bug I will absolutely provide cuddles. If they'd rather keep their distance and just vibe, that's great too. I also love brushing cats and can do nail trims depending on how your cat feels about it.
As a fellow cat person, I love hearing all the details about other people's cats, and I'm happy to share the same in return. I like to give detailed updates and take a lot of photos every visit. Think wildlife photography, but your cat is the subject. If you want pictures and a full rundown of how your kitty is doing, I've got you covered.
Outside of cat sitting, I work remotely as a designer in health tech, so I'm home most days and have flexibility in my schedule. If my listed availability doesn't quite match what you need, feel free to message me and we can figure something out!
For new clients, I do a meet and greet before the first reservation so I can learn the lay of the land and meet your cat. Feel free to reach out and we'll get something set up!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been cat sitting part-time here since 2023. I'm a cat owner and have fostered shelter cats and kittens in my home.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I just love interacting with cats and learning about their unique personalities. I also love giving cat owners a sense a peace and the security that their beloved little ones are being cared for.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Maple and Danny! Maple is a talkative dilute calico girl. Her biggest fear is FOMO. Her greatest love is dry food and treats. She will do a couple tricks I taught her for treats. Danny is a 'buff'(light orange) boy. He is very moody and intense, but he is a lovebug underneath it all. He likes to grumble a lot and will cuddle aggressively on his terms only.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Anyone can request a cat sitting reservation with me. We'll chat over messages and set up a quick meet & greet where I visit and learn where all the cat stuff is, get whatever I need to get in and out of the home, and hopefully meet the cat(s).
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I am usually in the area and available to cat sit during holidays. I love getting festive with the felines.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Da bird - super long wand toy with attachments my cats love. Da rat, da bee, and da mouse are all favorite attachments.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I listen to the owner first. Some shy cats can be warmed up with food and treats, some can be coaxed into playtime, and others just need their space. I always try to get eyes on the cats while I'm there, but sometimes I need to go by signs of life like empty food bowls for the best of hiders.

I did not have to worry about my cats at all while I was away. Sydney was incredibly reliable and I couldn’t recommend her more.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Raleigh cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
