Jenn's Joyful Kitty Care

I'm Jenn

Cat Sitting in Weaverville, NC

Hi, I'm Jenn! I've been a dedicated kitty mom for over 30 years, as well as "aunt" and caregiver to dozens of feline friends. It will be my true joy to care for your special ones.

Cats need loving, personalized, and respectful care. Whether there's one regal queen or king who rules your home - or a whole pride of kitties to care for - each of your babies will receive careful, individual attention from me. I always allow cats to guide my approach. I'm just as comfortable sitting quietly with shy, fearful kitties as playing with the ones who greet you with exuberant purring and requests for chin scratchies...

I'm just as comfortable sitting quietly with shy, fearful kitties as playing with the ones who greet you with exuberant purring and requests for chin scratchies.

If your kitties need medicine, I'm happy to provide patient care. I have years of experience with cats who have long-term diagnoses, and have administered everything from topical applications to shots and subcutaneous fluids. I'll gladly follow your detailed instructions. I'm also a certified reiki master, and love to give a little extra healing energy whenever kitties are open to receiving.

While I'm at your home, I'm happy to put food out for wildlife. I can also take care of bringing in trash bins, or any other little details that would make you feel more at ease while you're away.

Professionally, I've been a Montessori teacher, child advocacy manager, and children's minister. I love hiking, reading, gardening, fiber arts, and of course spending quality time with my three special kitties 💖

Learn More About Jenn

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love spending time getting to know each cat's unique personality. It is my joy to care for every kitty as if they were living in my own home, and provide reassurance to cat parents that they can relax while they're away, knowing their fur babies are being loved and having every one of their needs met.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I always begin with a thorough meet & greet, where I'll hope to meet each kitty (unless they're too shy, like my Juni.) I take detailed notes during my visit, and will ask to see you administer any needed medications so I can have a full understanding of the procedure. It is important to me that I gather all the information I'll need to take excellent care of your beloved kitties before you leave town.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I'm very mindful of entering and exiting carefully, to ensure no kitty escapes. I keep detailed notes and always follow your instructions for care. I double-check to be sure I've locked the door as I'm leaving.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I always look to the cat for guidance on how to interact with them. If they're timid or anxious, I will lower my gaze, approach slowly and softly, and gently put out my hand for them to smell. I like to start by offering treats, and if they warm to me I will offer a non-aggressive toy (such as a small plush mouse or laser pointer.) Once they know I'm a friend, I'll allow them to come to me for scratchies or gentle pats if they want.

This month

This is past due as Jenn has watched our two fur babies before and is our only go to now for when we have to be gone more than 2 days as our Bébe requires steroids for his pancreatitis and can be a bit contrary to catch when taking his medicine. Bébe will refuse to come out when he has an inkling something is about to happen and is why after a trip not receiving his medicine and having another pancreatitis flare I set out to find the right sitter for Bébe and Jenn supersedes all our finicky requirements!! She won Bébe over first thing and that is something no prior cat sitter has been able to do. He takes his medicine like a champ for Jenn and that alone means so much to me! She takes time to give each kitty a little attention before she leaves. Im so glad I kept searching for our perfect kitty sitter and can recommend her without any reservation or hesitation! Soleil, Bébe just got hope she will be around for all their vacated needs as Jenn will spoil them with churu swirl on top their wet food meals; cant ask for anything more than a kitty sitter who spoils your fur babies more than yourself😂😽😽

Jenn was an absolute angel. She not only took care of our cats while we were away, she took our female cat to the emergency vet on a Sunday evening to care for an injured leg. Jenn brought our cat home and made sure she was comfortable before leaving. She is a caring person. I would hire Jenn to take care of your cat(s) if you are away. She's wonderful.

Jenn was a fantastic sitter to check in on River and Willow and change their litter robot bag! she was able to read Willow's antisocial and River's anti-touch but curious vibes and offered them treats. we were very relieved to find a sitter nearby that does so well with cats. we will absolutely book her for future trips

Jenn did a fantastic job with our two cats! One of our cats takes a pill each morning, which went smoothly. Our other cat usually has severe stranger danger, but she felt comfortable with and warmed up to Jenn immediately. I told Jenn to expect to see this cat to stay hiding under the bed she visits, but Winnie came out from hiding day one and even let Jenn pet her! We greatly appreciated the pictures, videos, and updates each morning. We will definitely be hiring Jenn for our next trip!

Jenn watched our kitties for a few days and they did great. They are both quite shy and wary of strangers, but by the second day, Jenn was sending us pictures of our furry boys enjoying a bit of catnip and being petted and eating. They were happy and healthy when we returned and did not seem traumatized in the least by us being away from them overnight for a few days. I really appreciate the pictures Jenn sends so we can see what and how they're doing. We have another visit coming up this month and Jenn will be taking care of our boys again. She is meticulous in everything she does. She brought in the trash can and mail, cleaned our the boys' litter box every night, filled their water fountain, gave them wet food each morning, and treats every evening. She understood right away how to make our most skittish cat, Jake, feel safe and more secure: she avoided direct eye contact, spoke very gently, and didn't make any sudden moves around him. She knew to do this because she has cat very much like him. I would give her more stars if I could! If you're looking for a kind, gentle, conscientious caregiver for your fur children, I highly recommend you give Jen a try!

This was my second time having Jenn pet sit. My cats warmed up t.o her quickly again, as evidenced in the daily photos and videos she sent to me - much appreciated! Sammy and Remi got some petting and Fargo got his daily brushing that he really enjoys. Jenn also brought in packages and mail for me. I highly recommend her as a pet sitter.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
