What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have looked after cats for family and friends throughout my life. I have only recently decided to become a cat sitter with Meowtel.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Just being with cats, interacting with them and caring for them. They are a blessing - loyal, caring, playful and inquisitive.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

A friend of mine had 2 cats and a dog. One of the cats was asthmatic but he loved playing with a wand toy with a flying bird. He would insist he was fine and could play forever. To get him to play for shorter times, I taught all three pets to play a game together, where they could only chase the bird if I was chanting their name e.g singing “Marco’s turn”, and when I changed the name they would stop and watch while the others had their turn. By keeping the intervals fairly short, Marco did not over exert himself and start wheezing. It was great fun for all of us, and I was impressed at how quickly they learned the rules.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I was blessed with 5 kitties in the last 23 years, since I moved to Nashua. Their names were Tabitha, Samantha, Phoebe, Merlin, Harry and Leo.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes. I am retired and my only daughter lives with me. We live quiet lives. I may do early morning deliveries for Amazon, but only if I schedule them.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Interactive toys attached to wands. I also like to set up puzzle boxes for kitties to fish toys out. If they like to play fetch, that is also fun. Some cats like to play games on my old iPad, so I have a few of those installed.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Be very gentle, speak softly, make kitty friendly sounds. Do not make sudden movements. Do not pet them unless they indicate they want you to do so.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
