Greetings! I am Polina, and it would be my utmost joy to take care of your beloved feline companion. Cats have been an integral part of my life for more than 10 years. Myself I had 3 cats: charming Russian Blue and two delightful yard cats (16, 5 and 3 years old).

I saw them growing, maturing and aging. I know them happy, I know them sad, I love their zoomies and silence presence. I am offering a wide range of care, from the everyday tasks of feeding, and engaging in playful activities, to more intricate procedures, like administering meds (pills, powders, eye and ear drops, injections), going to vet, rehabilitation assistance and so on.

Also I was a volunteer in the Rescue House for cats in San Diego. Together with my colleagues we did a great job in organizing adoption events, matching kitties with their new owners and helping them reconnect with people. Our place counted in different times between 4-15 cats of different types and ages. And each of them should have received its own part of playtime, buds, petting and purring. That was the time!

Learn More About Polina

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I assume I was looking after cats here and there since my school years. I had 3 cats myself, helped my friends with their pets during the holidays. Since 2022 my experience became more official as I was volunteering in a cat rescue center. During this time I built the structure of the cat care routines, learned to handle the most timid and difficult cats that never knew home. It was a great time of expanding my cat knowledge.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Communication with cats is the best part of this job. They are elegant, graceful, original, funny and absolutely adorable. Being around is and making them contented and happy.. I become happier at these moments 😆🐾

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Oh, yes! I have had kitties since I was 14. At different times I had 1 to 3 cats. My eldest, Max, was a beautiful, gentle and timid Russian blue cat. We were true friends till the very end. He died at the age of 16. My second beloved baby gave me brightest moments of joy and happiness and shaped my final love and passion for cats. Solomon was found on the parking immediately adopted. He concurred my heart with the best character and the most fluffy paws. My youngest lady Mara (former stray kitten, adopted from the village) trained me to love tricky and independent cat type. Her grace, energy and funny manners fulfill my father’s house.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Starting a new partnership is a lot about gathering information. On my meeting greets I focus on how You take care of your baby cat, what is the daily routine. So I ask a lot of organizational aspects and questions about feeding, litter box, toys, any specific preferences, how it is better to interact with your cat, gather emergency contacts. All this helps to reduce stress and anxiety during your absence. Plus, I try to make first communication steps with a kitty to be sure that he or she is ok with my presence on their territory and get familiar with my smell.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Cats are curious creatures, so it is very important to be attentive with doors and windows. Hot weather during the summer requires some extra AC adjustment. Every cat is an individual and has its own habits. But some passions are not safe (even though have a lot of fun). Rubber band, for example, should not be left unattended as it can cause bowel obstruction as well as other tiny “toys” from human belongings. Food should be taken seriously - no unauthorized treats as you never know what can cause an unhappy stomach. And the last, but not the least, I search for mood and behavior changes to be sure that the tail is healthy.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am pretty often available during the holidays. We can always discuss possibilities.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Laser! Most of kitties absolutely love it. Try it, if you have not yet! Feather toys would be probably my second choice. Plus, cats are very creative😊 they enjoy pens, hair bands and a lot of rustling stuff..

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

As we are all different so do our pets. And I respect that. So sometimes when I meet spicy cats I do not rush to the direct contact. Giving some time and space, using soft voice and smooth movements usually brings results and helps to build the trust with them. Also knowing and doing what the cat parent usually does helps to earn some points in their eyes.

Polina was very caring about our cats’ needs and did a great job preparing for her time sitting them. While we were away, she made sure to let us know how everything was going, and we could tell from her updates that our cats were very at ease with her and enjoyed the time she spent with them. We absolutely plan on requesting her services again😺!

This was my second time using Polina when I was out of town. I was gone for 4 nights this time and felt really bad about leaving my cat alone. Polina was amazing- she played with my cat - laser, throwing treats, string toy, cat tv, music! She sent me videos and pictures along with detailed notes about her appetite and litter box. I will absolutely use Polina again!!

Polina went above and beyond expectations. She manages to be professional and affectionate at the same time. My cat is very shy and I wasn’t sure Polina would even see her so I was extremely excited to get multiple videos and pictures of them playing. I hate spending the night away from my cat, but knowing Polina was there to keep her company made me feel much more at ease. I highly recommend asking Polina to cat sit for you!

Polina is one of the best cat sitters we have had to-date! she was very communicative and sent helpful updates and great photos / videos. My cat is typically pretty shy but really took a liking to Polina. I will definitely continue to book Polina to watch my cat and would highly recommend her to anyone I know.

Polina has done a great job taking care of our kitties. She played a game with them that I showed her that is specific to them. She let me know when she would be going and sent photos and good communication after. We are happy to have her to hang out with our girls.

Polina took care of changing food/water as well as cleaning the toilet for two days for my cats. It was very thorough, and in particular the toilets were really clean! Photos she took were nice too, and she gave my Sun some treats, which is wonderful. Reports were detailed too. I'd love to ask her help again!

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
