I currently am a mother to my calico rescue, Momo. She is five-years-old and is truly my best friend. I look forward to coming home every day to her waiting at the stairs, and every night in bed she cuddles with me to go to sleep. I was also born on the same day as my childhood cat, who lived to be twenty-two, and definitely shaped the cat mom I am today.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
My best advice to a customer looking to hire a cat sitter is to look for similar qualities as you would in a nanny. I believe the responsibility of a child and a pet are comparable, as they often hold the same importance to an individual; and at the end of the day, your pets deserve to be safe, attended to, and loved. I think communication is key, and a concise communicator is the best thing to look for in a cat sitter, as transparency is what will benefit your cat the best, and ease your anxieties the most.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I often prioritize meeting every cat where they are in their process of meeting new people and experiencing new circumstances, such as their parents being gone for a duration. I understand that I am entering their space and comfort rather than the other way around, and that every cat is entitled to their own boundaries in their safe space. I will ensure I am always available for them should they need me, and be ready to play or pet when they are comfortable, without pushing them before they are ready. I often reflect on times where my family adopted elderly rescues, who were often abused prior, and how far some respect of boundaries could truly go for the relationship.

Delanee is a fantastic, charismatic and trustworthy cat sitter. It’s not every cat sitter you can leave your cats, especially six, with. Delanee took excellent care of all six of my cats, including one with a medical condition. In today’s world, finding someone you can trust while you’re away and feel comfortable with is challenging. Delanee made it easier for me to be away from them because they were taken care of exceptionally well and I received frequent updates. I highly recommend her and would use her again and again!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
