What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have cat sit sporadically over the past decade, friends, a professor, family members. I have spent the night and done drop by’s, administer medication, feed/water, play, clean litter boxes, everything.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

The cats! Truly that is the answer, getting to meet and know all these different personalities and styles is so much fun. Cats offer so much love and spunk, and I am grateful to be able to return even a fraction of it.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

One of my own kitties is exceedingly anxious, and with her and others I’ve found it’s helpful to go slowly and softly. Let them know you are there, speak to them, softly, entice them out with toys or treats if you can, but do not push or corner them at all. Let them come to you, it has to be their choice. If they do come, let them sniff around at their leisure. I’ll give them my hands or hair to smell and if they want to rub on me then I stay still and let them do it themselves until they are comfortable enough for me to move towards them myself.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
