What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve done professional pet sitting on different platforms and have also volunteered at the Westside animal shelter for over 5 years. My mission is to ensure that every pet that is in my care is safe happy and healthy.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love being able to see each cats, unique personality shine. Some cats are shy and timid. At first others are immediately playful. Some cats are very high energy and love to chase and jump, but some are very low energy and enjoy sleeping or sitting down on my lap. Some cats prefer exploring high places and some enjoy being lower to the ground. I love that with each interaction I learn something new.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I love every cat that has ever come into my care so it’s a bit challenging to say, which is my favorite. However, there was one memorable cat that had an orange nose, and I used to call him tiger. One day he surprised me by jumping on my back, and I carried him around like a little backpack. The pet owners were shocked because they were the only people he did that with. I love that he trusted me so much it was very special.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I don’t have any kitties myself since my landlord doesn’t allow pets but that’s okay! I get to spend more time with shelter animals and other people’s cats.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
When you hire a new cat sitter look for a reliable, experienced sitter with good reviews. Ensure they’re comfortable with cats, can handle emergencies, and follow all your specific care instructions. Meowtel does a full background check and checks references so once you make a decision on who to hire all you need to do is provide basic care instructions on feeding, litter, and any special needs your cat has.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
When working with a new pet parent, I start by scheduling a meet-and-greet to get to know both them and their cat. I take the time to learn about the cat’s personality, routine, medical needs, and any special instructions. I ask about feeding schedules, litter box habits, favorite hiding spots, and comfort items. I also discuss emergency protocols and gather contact information. During my visits, I send regular updates and photos to reassure pet parents. My goal is to provide compassionate, reliable care while maintaining the cat’s normal routine, ensuring both the pet and owner feel at ease.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Ensuring the safety and security of both the cat and home is my top priority. I carefully follow all instructions provided by the pet parent, including feeding schedules, medications, and any special care needs. I make sure doors and windows are securely locked, and I double-check that the cat is safely indoors before leaving. I also monitor their behavior for any signs of distress or illness. During visits, I provide regular updates with photos to reassure pet parents. If anything seems off, I communicate immediately and take appropriate action. My goal is to provide peace of mind and reliable care.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! I’m available during the holidays but keep in mind Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years tend to be popular dates so please book ahead of time.
What is your favorite cat toy?
My favorite cat toy is the classic string. Hear me out on this, the length is adjustable and many cats respond to it pretty well. You can attach small toys like mice or feathers at the end. Also it’s one of the most affordable travel pet toys out there!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I approach every cat with patience and respect for their space. However for timid, shy, or anxious ones I’ll move especially slowly, speak softly, and let them come to me on their own terms. I’ll avoid direct eye contact if they seem to feel that it is too intimidating, and offer treats or toys as a gentle way to build trust. I also make sure to maintain a quiet, calm environment and follow their routine as closely as possible. Every cat is different, so I take the time to learn what makes them feel safe. My goal is always to help them feel comfortable and secure while you’re away.

When Kay is staying with your beloved cats, you will never question whether they are getting endless love, attention, and enrichment. Kay is the absolute ideal cat-sitter. I get incredibly anxious leaving our 4 (!) cats at home during travel. Kay did SO MUCH to make my partner and I feel at ease during our recent vacation. She sent us countless pictures and videos of our babies and sent a bunch of lovely updates about their little cat shenanigans. She gave them outdoor door in a pet stroller after asking for permission to do so, did little art activities with them, and gave them all the love and attention in the world. We cannot, CANNOT recommend Kay enough! She is a true gem of a human being and we feel so fortunate to have been introduced to her for our cat-sitting needs!

If you love your pet as much as we love our cat Kaylin is definitely the sitter for you! We love to travel but are always so worried about our cat who is very attached to us. Kaylin goes above and beyond what you could ever expect from a pet sitter. We can fully enjoy our travels knowing that our furry friend is in amazing hands. Honestly, I think she spoils him more than we do! She gives him cuddles, sings him songs, gives him special treats, and even crafts with him. She always sends plenty of photos and updates. Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Albuquerque cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $22.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
