I am a fashion designer and artist, I have a 10-6 day design job during the weekdays, and I make arts and crafts during my weekends... Hi, I am YunRay and I love cats. I live in Astoria, Queens and I have 1 short hair black/white cat, I adopted her after she was rescued from the hurricane in Puerto Rico. She was definitely shy and scared at first but me and my partner were able to make her open up and get used to us and our beagle doggie. Now she is the sassy Latina in the house!
I am a fashion designer and artist, I have a 10-6 day design job during the weekdays, and I make arts and crafts during my weekends. I am available to take care of your cats and kitties before I get to work and after during the week, and definitely the weekends. I am open to take care of cats in the Queens area and Upper East Side area in Manhattan, of course, if you’re near my neighborhood, Astoria, it’ll be awesome.
Let me be your cat sitter, I’ll take care of all of your cats’ needs, be attentive to details, play with them and update you with texts and cute photos of them when you’re away. What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting for over 4 years on Meowtel, it’s given me so much joy doing them, I truly enjoy meeting each and every kitty I catsit for.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy getting to know and care for all the different cats along my cat-sitting journey, and I even made a couple cat loving friends along the way too!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have a short hair black/white cat named Boba, she was rescued from Puerto Rico after a hurricane, now she’s the sassy Latina in the house!
Are you usually available during holidays?
I’m usually available during holidays, as my family likes to stay put with our cat and dog during major holidays, so I’m almost always available to cat sit your baby kitties around holidays.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I am very patient and careful with all cats, I love playing with playful cats, but when meeting and cat-sitting for timid or anxious cats, I like to let them get used to me, as I try putting down treats, toys etc around them.

As a first time user, and it being my first time leaving my girl alone for a while, I was quite nervous, but was QUICKLY relieved once meeting Yun-Jui. Sooo supremely thorough and nurturing. I felt like he was taking care of me from afar as much as he was graciously taking care of my girl. I use a bunch of automated devices to help manage tasks and monitor her habits, and how he handled integrating and troubleshooting these devices showed his dedication to care and flexibility. THOROUGH updates, adorable pictures and videos, and quick response times, as well as an incredible team player and nurturing presence make him a MUST for you!

What a smooth and wonderful experience we had with Ray! So attentive, kind, and detail oriented. It was the first time we had left our cat in almost 3 years and she was freaked out. Ray was patient and updated us daily with messages and videos!!! You could not ask for a better sitter! We will only use his services moving forward. Cannot recommend enough!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Astoria cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Yun-Jui was a fantastic cat sitter for our cat Bagel this weekend. He was communicative, including texting to ask my preference when Bagel didn't eat his wet food. He sent lots of pictures and videos and detail regarding what Bagel ate and played with. He came on time and was also timely in sending me updates. I would be happy to have Yun-Jui watch Bagel again.

Yun-Jui truly exceeded our expectations with reliably taking care of our spicy little kiwi girl while we were away on our honeymoon for 9 days. He never failed to send thorough daily updates with summaries of his visit along with photos and videos. He even tried bonding with Kiwi who is known to be spicy to all humans other than us and cleaned up several throw-ups (which usually happens when she eats too fast), going above and beyond with scrubbing the carpet. This was our first time with Meowtel and we were lucky to find our permanent cat sitter for all future vacations :) Thanks Ray!

Yun-Jui was an excellent catsitter, and I was very happy he took care of my two cats. Aside from following instructions I had left him, he did a wonderful job giving my cats the attention they needed. My cats don’t get along, so they rarely are in the same space. Yun-Jui took care to make sure they both felt loved. He played with the energetic one and gave the other one pets and gentle care. I received detailed updates with pictures and videos every time he visited. Overall, I was very happy with Yun-Jui and will definitely reserve him again!
