I’ve spent years getting to know cats of every personality: the shy under the bed types, the chatty attention seekers, and the independent cats who warm up in their own time. I love earning a cat’s trust and figuring out what makes them feel safe and content.

During visits, I keep routines consistent, and focus on making your cat feel relaxed. Whether that means playtime, cuddles, or quiet company, I follow their lead. I am gentle, patient, and very tuned in to the little signals cats give when they are deciding how they feel.

Learn More About Sydney

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been cat sitting for about five years. I started by watching friends’ cats when they traveled, and more recently I’ve begun offering it more formally to people outside my circle.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two cats, Chespy and Nori. Chespy is a sweet, gentle boy who’s a little timid but very loving. Nori is more anxious and needs time to trust new people, so I’ve learned how to navigate slower introductions and respect her boundaries. Once she warms up, she’s incredibly affectionate and loves attention on her own terms.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

For timid or anxious cats, I always move slowly and let them lead the interaction. I give them space to observe, sniff, and get comfortable before trying to engage. I pay close attention to their body language and adjust based on what they’re telling me.

This was the second time Sydney watched our cats and she continues to do an amazing job! Roger got all of his medications while we were gone. We even had an incident where one of the cats knocked over and broke something, Sydney was able to go over to the apartment asap and clean everything up and make sure the cats were okay (which was SO appreciated!!)

Sydney was wonderful with our needy, senior cats! As they’ve gotten older, they’ve needed a bit more care and can not always be the tidiest cats. Sydney was super communicative and we loved the daily photo ops!

Sydney was amazing with Mila!! She made sure everyday that my cat was well taken care of and would update me with everything. She was great at cleaning up accidents and gave my cat so many pets when she thought she was stressed. Will definitely hire Sydney again. Thank you!!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Brooklyn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
