What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting for two years now. Ive cat sat for friends, colleagues, and family members through independent means as favors or paid affairs. In a given setting, I have watched a max of 4 cats total and a minimum of one-two cats. I have some experience with mix pet households (such as a dog and cat) and willing to work with pet parents regarding care for dogs as well!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love the ability to learn more about cats, their personalities and to gain more knowledge about cat behavior. I always ask my clients about their routines with their cats as every cat has different needs!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I ensure safety and security by running through a checklist I make during the meet in greet which may include: checking for closed windows, doors, access to human foods, access to plastic items or other foreign objects that cats may get curious about, and refilling all required food/water bowls. I always take a picture before and after the visit so pet parents can see how their baby is handling the time away and how they feel after having company. I will always reach out for any questions and understand that all communication is welcome!

Stephanie is Absolutely The only person I'll have watch Elbow again. She was super attentive and caring and Elbow loved her immediately. She watched him for a week and I had absolutely no anxiety after her great communication and updates while I was away, and I'm a very anxious cat mom. She treated Elbow like her own, and clearly loves what she's doing watching over kitties and making sure they're safe and well cared for. Lots of lap time with Elbow and all the toys put away before leaving. She went above and beyond accommodating special requests for Elbow and I can't thank her enough.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Brooklyn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
