I’ve loved cats for as long as I can remember! I grew up with cats and have cared for many cats throughout my life, so I understand that every cat has their own personality, routine, and comfort level. I also previously worked as a professional groomer, which gave me experience handling animals with all kinds of temperaments and needs. I’m comfortable with shy, anxious, very needy, or extra-attentive pets and am happy to give them the patience and care they need.

During visits, I’ll make sure your cat is fed, has fresh water and a clean litter box, and gets plenty of attention and affection (if they want it!). I’m also happy to follow specific routines, administer basic care, and send you updates and photos so you know your kitty is happy and well cared for while you’re away :)

Learn More About Sara

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

rew up with cats and have cared for cats throughout my life, both my own and for friends and family. I also previously worked as a professional groomer, which gave me a lot of hands-on experience handling animals with different personalities, temperaments, and needs. I’m comfortable caring for cats who need extra attention, patience, or a little more hands-on care!

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I like to start with a meet-and-greet so I can get to know the cat, learn their personality and routine, and go over any specific instructions or needs. I’ll make sure I understand feeding, litter, medications or other care, and what your cat is used to. During visits, I’ll follow their routine closely, give them plenty of attention (on their terms!), and send photos and updates so you know how they’re doing. I want both you and your cat to feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I let them set the pace and never force interaction. I’m very patient and give shy cats the time and space they need to feel comfortable with me. My experience as a groomer taught me how to read animal body language and recognize when an animal is stressed or needs a break. I’m happy to spend time quietly building trust, even if that means the first few visits are mostly just keeping them company from a distance.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Brooklyn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
