I have loved cats my whole life and finally adopted 2 of my own, Jess and Frank. We love to play and watch kitty tv, and they go crazy for chicken broth (homemade!).
My 8 years of cumulative cat sitting experience comes caring for my friend's and neighbors' cats while they were away, as well as house sitting. One of my cats has struggled with cystitis, UTIs, and a history of urinary blockages (he's all fine... Pbrrt! Glad you're here. I am an experienced cat sitter based in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, right on the border of Crown Heights & Bushwick. I cat sit within approximately a 1 mile radius as a cat sitter in Ocean Hill and other neighboring areas.
I have loved cats my whole life and finally adopted 2 of my own, Jess and Frank. We love to play and watch kitty tv, and they go crazy for chicken broth (homemade!).
My 8 years of cumulative cat sitting experience comes caring for my friend's and neighbors' cats while they were away, as well as house sitting. One of my cats has struggled with cystitis, UTIs, and a history of urinary blockages (he's all fine now) so I'm well versed in administering medication such as gabapentin, and noticing subtle signs that something might be wrong.
I am attentive and observant and will make sure your cats are as happy as possible! I will prioritize play and making sure your your cats feel comfortable. I have spent the majority of my free time learning about optimal cat care, and studying from certified cat behaviorists. I feel confident in my accrued feline knowledge and continue to learn more every day with my own cats. It's a such pleasure to live with these acreatures 😻

** I am fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and will wear a mask if you request it. I will wash/ sanitize my hands before touching anything or your cats. I am more than happy to follow any other safety guidelines (e.g. removing shoes, etc.) while I visit. **

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
By staying calm and speaking to them gently. I will always give a cat as much space as they need, but try to get them used to my general presence before attempting to interact. I'm all about kitty boundaries

Ashley was incredible!! We were nervous to leave our cat, Pez, while we went on a long trip but luckily, we found Ashley. He’s been having some behavioral changes lately but Ashley was able to get him out of his shell. I have never felt more calm leaving him! Ashley was absolutely fantastic! Not only was she available last minute over the holidays, she is a REAL cat whisperer! She sent me daily updates which was so nice to look forward to. My cats (even the grumpy one) really loved her. She is great at communicating and asking the right questions. I have an elderly cat (the grumpy one) and it was such a relief to know that she was taken care of and that the career was really invested. I would give 6 stars for Ashley if I could.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Brooklyn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
