My two cats are foster brothers adopted from the Brooklyn Cat Cafe back in 2021! Ray of Sunshine, older by about one month, turned 4 this year and has cerebellar hypoplasia. Ray does not have the progressive form of CH, and has gained strength and confidence over the years — we went from quite a few little box accidents to very, very rare instances, and he loves to climb/jump and hoist himself up onto elevated surfaces now (something I thought would never happen when I first met him!) Sabi, who also turned 4 back in February of this year, is my sweet orange boy named after my grandfather (Sabiniano). He is markedly handsome (this is what everyone tells me!), intelligent, and silly. His only real issues are sneaking extra kibble snacks and being a little lazy…he loves extra exercise time and extra toy chasing before bed to tire us out!

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

Communication above all! Usually cat parents will have a little list or document already prepared for me if their cat’s needs go beyond what most would consider the “bare minimum” — feeding, playing, exercise, cuddles/pets, and maintaining the cleanliness of their personal areas. I always make sure to ask directly if there is anything they can think of that I should know: any quirks, any specific places in the home that they like to hide in or get into, any stressors, and anything they can remember that might help me in times that their cats are feeling a little more down or distant. Of course, I go over anything medical multiple times. I also always make sure to ask for favorite toys, spots in the house, and their preferred special treats for bribery moments, as that always helps me being a brand new person coming into their lives and homes.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am very available during holidays and love to help owners/parents around that time as well! I know it can be hard to find someone on the same schedule as you, but if you’re traveling out of NYC or Brooklyn I can almost guarantee I will still be here and available! I travel out somewhat rarely, but when I do, it’s not usually for actual holidays — my family is here!

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
