I am a long time cat lover and cat mother of two amazing cats of my own Soft and Kunti. Since meeting them, I have become their dedicated caretaker and I would love to extend that same dedication to your own pets! Cats seem to feel comfortable with me almost instantly and I have a deep love for meeting new kitties and getting to know their distinct personalities.
I believe I could be your perfect pet sitter due to my gentle nature, kind heart, attention to detail, and reliability. As someone with two cats of my own whom I love and adore, I understand how it can sometimes be... Hey my name is Zariah :) I am an experienced cat sitter who has been a sitter on Meowtel since 2022! My clients love me for the peace of mind I give them while they are away, being a through communicator in kitty updates, making their cats feel cozy + comfortable, and for going above and beyond when it comes to comepleting tasks and keeping things tidy!

Additionally, having met many cats over my years of cat sitting, I understand how each cat has their own unique boundaries and needs and I am flexible in accommodating and learning whatever those needs may be.
I am based in Bed-Stuy and I mainly like to focus on providing my services to Brooklyn. However, if you are based in Manhattan or Queens I am more than open to communicating with you to see if we can work something out. Outside of cat sitting, I currently work as a freelance visual artist/ photographer and health aide so I have very open availability.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting through meowtel consistently since 2022 for a wide array of clients all across Brooklyn! I would consider myself throughly experienced :) I’m honored to take care of so many kitties
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Meeting new cats as a cat lover is the best! I love getting to know their personalities and tending to their every need. I love being of service to animals and going above and beyond for my clients! It also makes me so happy hearing that the cats I sit seem content once my clients have returned home to them- I’m glad to leave a lasting positive effect on the cats I meet and my clients!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
One of my favorite cat sitting reservations occurred with the cutest tuxedo cat! He was so shy at first but with some loving patience and an attempt at playing with him- he became so comfortable with me and now we are the best of friends! This was my favorite because I felt to happy to make him feel cozy and comfortable enough to let his personality shine- he’s such a funny + silly kitty! Now when I head out from my visits he doesn’t want me to go lol we have lots of fun together :)
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I do! They are named Soft and Kunti but they have plenty of nicknames haha Soft is also well known in my household as Pookie and Kunti is also known as Simone or Momo they respond to all of these!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I always folllow my clients advised procedures, keep a watchful eye for anything that could be harmful for the cats I sit and if I ever notice any health concerns or anything unusual I immediately contact my clients with any details. I am committed to going above and beyond for the safety and health of cats. For the safety of the home I lock doors or turn on security systems if my client has them and keep keys safe and secure! I always approach homes and kitties with the upmost respect and attention to detail. I double and sometimes even triple check that everything is good before leaving the premises.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes! My schedule tends to fill up fast so I always prioritize my current clients first and then take on any new clients if my schedule will allow it during holiday times. Always feel welcome to message me to check my availability even if my calendar says it’s closed.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I love playing with cats using wand style toys! Most cats seem to love these most! Lasers are fun too
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have lots of experience with timid cats. I handle them with loving, gentle patience and diligently follow any specific advice from my clients! I follow the cat’s pace and understand it can take time for shy kitties to feel comfortable. I always listen to their personal boundaries and observe their body language! I have found in the past that letting them make the first moves is very helpful: I will often sit in their space at a distance if they are hiding or scared with a few treats on hand and let them observe and approach me first with their curious sniffs then offer them some treats to award their courage! Lots of cats usually open up to me slowly this way. I also find that letting them simply observe me while I tend to other care tasks helps them get comfortable with me in their space!

Zariah is amazing!! She really kept my apartment clean (food scatters were gone, cleaned litter pee off the ground) for me while I was gone, even without me asking her to. She sent me photos and gave me detailed synopses on how my cats were during each visit. I would highly highly recommend and will book her again next time I’m out of town.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Brooklyn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
