What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting for 15 years. I also have experience with socializing rescue cats, multiple cat household, and cats with special medical and behavioral needs.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I’ve been a cat owner for over 30 years. I love meeting all kinds of cats and bonding with them. I’ve always been fascinated how every cat (even when closely related) are complete individuals with their own personalities.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I was sitting for a multi-cat (4 cats) household that ranged in diversity from a 3-month old rescue to a 19-year-old Bengal cat with renal disease. It was really touching to see the love and personality dynamics in this mini-colony. The oldest cat was helping to raise the younger cat
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Dahlia and Diana are fosters turned fur-ever friends. I socialized 3 kittens as part of a rescue that took in a litter of 5. After adopting out their sister, I was in love - Dahlia and Diana were already home. Fun fact: after testing their DNA I found out my little fluffy 8 pound cats are 25% Maine Coon! That’s a lot of big cat energy for tiny tabbies.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I make my own work schedule so I am usually around for the holidays. Just reach out, I’m happy to help if I can!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
The “slow blink” is the first sign of friendship. Getting on a cat’s level without overwhelming them has helped me build trust and win over a lot of shy felines.

Jacqueline was an incredible cat sitter! She was very flexible with our needs and shared updates and photos throughout the day. This was our first cat sitting experience since one of our cats Jackson had a urinary blockage a couple years ago so there was naturally a bit more anxiety but Jacqueline put all of that to rest! The cats really liked her too! We will definitely be working with Jacqueline again.

I can’t recommend Jackeline enough as a cat sitter. She’s so sweet and genuinely loves cats, and it really shows. She’s super responsive which made me feel totally at ease while I was away. My cat took to her right away, and that says everything. Jackeline is reliable, gentle, and just amazing with cats. I’m so grateful to have found her!🫶🏻

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

New York cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
