Hello!
Thanks for stopping by!
When your fur babies are with me they will be nurtured and respected. I have 25+ years of pet care experience with 2 gracefully aging kitties of my own. While I have been a professional cat sitter for a few years in the city, I also grew up with animals my entire life (cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, snakes - yup, even a turtle here & there).
In addition to pet care, I manage an in house international hosting program for tourists in NYC. And prior to transitioning into pet care, I worked with NGOs specializing in operations for national programs advocating for human rights. Most of my time is spent loving on city kitties and it has been a wonderful experience that I hope to continue to expand.
I can administer medicine with sneaky food treats, liquid mouth injectables, topical skin care treatments, etc. I am open to learning new methods as well for each individual pet. I give lots of pets (or space if preferred), water and food refresh every visit, treats, play enrichment, brushing, plant watering, etc, and occasionally take too many cute photos of the babes.

Your pet and home will be well taken care of with me. I look forward to working with you and your fur babies!

Learn More About Sharon

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have always owned cats personally and cared for cats of friends and family throughout my life. Professionally I have been cat sitting for a few years. I love being a cat whisperer in the city.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Providing peace of mind and comfort as corny as it sounds haha but it truly is what I enjoy. Every cat has a cute personality and its such an honor when they come around for comfort. Being able to share that with the owners is kind of special. I also have kitties and worry about them when traveling so I understand how owners may feel while away and want to give them the peace of mind that I would appreciate.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I certainly could not choose a favorite! They're all special in a unique way honestly. I seem to have a specialty with shy cats though. Its always a nice surprise to end up with the shyest kitty suddenly on my lap for pets or ready for play time.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My 2 babies Tinka and LaTi are around 10 and 12 years old. They both adopted me many years ago when they were kittens and they've kept me on my toes ever since! Tinka loves to join in on the virtual meet and greets.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

You want to feel comfortable and confident in the sitter caring for your cat and home. Ensure that you feel comfortable communicating with the sitter, always check reviews, and that they can align with your needs.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

We'll arrange a virtual meet & greet to review care and where everything is located. From there, we'll schedule key pick up/drop off & an in person meet and greet if necessary. During the reservation, I will provide video & photo updates every visit.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I always verify if there will be roommates or visitors during the reservation. Review with clients what windows, doors, lights, music, etc will be locked or on during the reservation so I know items to monitor. I also send clients video of my arrival & locking up (if possible).

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite is whatever their favorite is! I tend to carry a laser just in case but every cat has a favorite toy.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I'll follow their lead. If they need space, I'll give them that space until they're comfortable to come around (if at all and that's totally fine too).

We’ve worked with Sharon several times and each time she’s been amazing. Most recently we left the country for 2+ weeks and Sharon worked diligently with us to make this as easy as possible for our 2 cats. Our Simba can be quite territorial and she worked really hard to earn his trust. She communicated concerns and offered suggestions: such as leaving some of her things in our apartment in the days before we left, moving their food and litter boxes to a single room, etc.. They were well taken care of. She communicated following each visit with pictures and video updates. She navigated the snow/ice storm seamlessly alerting us to any issues she was facing. I can’t recommend her enough, especially if you have a more difficult cat.

Sharon was EXCELLENT!! I was so thrilled with her quality of care and concern for my very shy kitties (she even managed to get the most skittish one to accept pets!). She was always available via text or voice memo, and her check-in videos were very detailed. Even at the meet-and-greet, she came with a a checklist prepared for all questions and specifics. I was so impressed by her professionalism, and my cats took to her like a charm. She's GREAT!!!!

Sharon has always been a great sitter, but during this visit she literally saved our wedding. we had forgotten part of the grooms attire in the apartment and were out of state, Sharon downloaded Uber package to get the item to a groomsman an hour before the flight. highly recommend!

Sharon took wonderful care of our kitties, Coconut and Inkling while we were away for four nights. They were both so excited to see her when she visited, and loved playing with her. Inkling is shy so I am glad they bonded. (Coconut is not shy so we knew he would not be an issue!; lol). We will use Sharon again when we travel and our kitties will be so happy to see her!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

New York cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
