During visits, I follow your feeding and treat preferences, refresh water, and keep litter boxes clean and comfy. I keep things calm and predictable, watch the kitty’s body language closely, and offer gentle play, like a string, if they’re interested.
I’ve lived with five cats at once and am currently owned by one loud, very chatty tuxedo boy.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Since I have always had cats, I have cat sat for friends and family for years. Been around cats with all types of personalities and needs. I am usually the go to person they ask and i love it.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
The small wins: a shy kitty coming out to eat or an unexpected head-butt. I also love navigating different cat personalities, they are all so different.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
Best cat sitting was caring for Bagunça, back in Brazil. His name means “mess” in Portuguese, and he lived up to it. He loved a wild play, poncing and zoomies around the house. I loved giving playtime to burn his gigantic amount of energy. By the end of each visit, he would settle down, calm and relaxed. Such great reminder of the need to adapt to the cat’s personality.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes, 2 cats, both rescue and Brazilian transplants: Sanduba (7 y old boy) and Bisteca (17 year old beautiful lady)
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Provide as much information as possible wrt your kitty’s feeding and playing habits. Indicate where the sitter can find food and litter at your place. Let your sitter know of any hiding places/issues w the home she should know of, so she can always find your cat during the visits. Clearly agree on timeframe for visits.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I connect with the cat parent, review routines and preferences, and keep visits calm, consistent, and aligned with what the cat already knows.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I double-check entry points, keep food and hazards out of reach, and stay alert to any changes in behavior or health. I also move slowly around the kitty so not to alarm them.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes. I really love staying in New York during holidays, and keep my Meowtel schedule updated. I am more Likely to be available than not.
What is your favorite cat toy?
My favorite cat toy is a simple string, perfect for gentle interactive play that keeps cats engaged without overstimulation or stress.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I move slowly, respect boundaries, keep visits calm and predictable, and let timid or anxious cats set the pace for interaction.

Flavia would choose the company of cats over anything. She will treat your fur baby like her own, likely spoiling them with cuddles, favorite games and loads of laughter! She is exceptionally experienced with coy cats, stubborn cats and even cats with more special medical needs. She has never met a cat (or animal for that matter) she doesn't adore and will provide the best and most loving care for your cat family.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

New York cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
