Cat Sitting in Rego Park, NY
Years ago my husband and I would walk our cat Teddy, a beautiful Snowshoe cat, at a college campus in southern California. Yes, we would walk Teddy on a harness, and he became something of a celebrity! Most people would do a "double take" because at first glance they thought he was a dog! On the campus were also many homeless kitties that I and others would feed and look after. We could sit quietly in the presence of the cats and just be. It was so soothing, and one of our favorite experiences ever. One day, a sweet little tuxedo cat, Lily, claimed us as her humans... My two sweet kitties are Gustave and Button. I love their hilarious antics. It's so much fun to watch them play and chase each other around the house. I've had both since they were kittens, and they are beloved family members.

Although a stray, she would sit in our laps for hours and soak up all the love and attention. We knew we had to look for a home for her, and we found one. Ours!
Gustave has a kind of bronchitis or asthma and he gets a pill and a few puffs of an inhaler each day. I have given subcutaneous fluids to a kitty with kidney issues, so I guess those might be considered special qualifications.
My primary occupation is in sales/customer service, part-time. The days I'm available are pretty flexible if you need someone to visit your kitty(s) in the morning and at night. I can be available afternoons if need be, depending on my regular job's schedule for the week. Please feel free to ask! :)
I live in Queens and either Manhattan or Queens work best for me. In Manhattan, midtown is best. I'm vaccinated and plan on getting boosted again soon. Even though New York has relaxed the mask mandate, I still feel much safer wearing mine whenever indoors.

Christine was an absolutely wonderful caretaker for my fur baby who gets very anxious when I travel out of town. She was so gentle, attentive, and communicative throughout. I received plenty of detailed updates, photos and videos, which put me at complete ease. I will definitely ask her to care for my kitty again.

It's the first time I'm leaving my cat with a sitter. Being a professional catsitter myself, I can be a bit meticulous with my cat's care and how I treat my clients' cats. That said --- Christine did a wonderful job!! I was worried Tiny would be too scared or shy around her that she won't eat, but Tiny warmed up to her immediately! She's easy to communicate with and sent lots of updates during her visit. She's definitely the kind of catsitter that a fellow sitter would recommend. She is just so patient and loving and sweet with Tiny, I feel so at ease whenever she does her visits. That's the kind of feeling that you want when you're away, and she just absolutely delivers! I look forward to working with her more again in the future <3

Christine is an incredible caretaker, and our cats absolutely loved her. She kept them well fed with clean water and a clean litter box every day and then made sure to give them play time and affection. Pictures were sent every day, and Christine even made herself available when our return home was recommended. Christine did a phenomenal job sitting for my cat Leo! I was really worried about leaving him for 11 days. Christine was diligent in visiting him every day at the same time at my request. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Rego Park cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

We recently had to go out of town for our first overnight away since early 2020. Our kitties are not accustomed to sitters and our routine is a little complicated, so we were nervous pet parents. Christine was wonderful and we will be more than happy to reserve her services the next time we have to travel. We had a meet & greet beforehand and we got lots of communication and photos at each visit. We have some semi-feral outdoor cats she fed and watered also. Litter boxes were cleaned daily as we requested. We also appreciated that she's proactive in wearing a mask for the meet and greet as we are still taking covid precautions ourselves.

I can’t say enough great things about Christine. This is my third reservation, and she has been an incredible support. Kind, caring, and goes above and beyond during her visits, making sure my little guy is taken care of and ensuring I feel good while away.
