I have had pets since I was born, and cats have always been my favorite! From skittish kitties to outgoing and playful ones, I have experience with them all. I have also distributed oral medication to cats, and am capable of caring for both kittens and elderly cats with special needs.
About two years ago, I rescued a cat who followed me home one night, and she became a much loved member of the family. I am a very patient person, and will never yell at or be physical toward animals. I have a lot of energy, and can care for cats of all ages and energy levels. I make sure to keep constant communication with cat owners, and give my full attention to each and every cat during visits... I am currently a graduate student on my journey to become a clinical mental health therapist. In my own experience, I have witnessed the many positive therapeutic effects of animals on improving mental health and hygiene. I have personally found that playing and spending time with my cat after a stressful day dramatically improves my wellbeing. In the field, animal-assisted therapy is now becoming more popular in reducing depression and anxiety, as well as reducing chronic physical pain. Once I graduate, I hope to incorporate cats into my own practice to help future clients.
I am easy to reach, and am very flexible. My current availability is Monday through Friday from 7am-2pm and late nights. My weekends are also very flexible, so we will figure out time(s) if needed. I can't wait to work with you and your cats!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I began cat sitting in 2018, and just did it during the summers of 2018 and 2019. I quickly fell in love with cat sitting, and once quarantine was lifted during the pandemic, I made cat sitting a small business and have had weekly clients since 2021. I have met so many different cat personalities along the way, and learned how to adapt to cats of all ages to create a comforting environment and a strong relationship with each and every client.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
When working with a new cat parent, I typically begin by asking them some routine questions, which include if their cat has allergies, is afraid of loud noises or other animals, and is on any medication. I then open the floor for cat parents to ask me any questions or express any concerns they have. I also arrange a meet and greet to meet both the cat parent and the cat. Here, cat parents can show me where the food, toys, medications, etc. are located and gauge if their cat feels comfortable with me. During every visit, I send photos and keep in touch with cat parents.

Emilie is absolutely amazing! She took care of my foster who is very shy, and extremely wary of strangers. She was so patient with him, playing soothing music for him and even spending extra time with him on certain days when he was brave enough to come out of his hiding spot. I got daily images and updates. And came back to everything super clean. If I had it my way, she'd be my sitter every time I'm out of town.

Emilie took great care of our rescue kitty Pepper. My husband and I don't like leaving Pepper, but we had plans to go away for Thanksgiving this year and, after searching, I found Emilie on MEOWTEL. I knew as soon as I met Emilie at our meet and greet that she would take good care of our girl, as I found her to be a lovely, warm, authentic person. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- February 13-19: Presidents Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Ridgewood cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
