What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting through rover for 3 years. I have cat sitter for multiple cats in a household and worked with cats that require are very specific feeding regimen.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy meeting the cats and making them less anxious while their owner is gone. My favorite part is giving cats lots of pets if they allow me to. I love when a cats melts into a chin scratch. Second favorite is playing with the cats using string toys or whatever they’re favorite toys are.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 2 cats named Fish and Buggs. They’re a bonded pair that I adopted at 4 months old. According to other people, they’re very shy but around me they’re rambunctious weird cats.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
When working with a new client, I’ll set up a video call. In the call, I ask the client tell me more about their cats personality and behaviors around new people. Then I have the client go over logistical topics such as feeding (time, amount, and location) litter box cleaning(location and disposal location), toys(favorites and locations), and how they plan to pass off the key. I’m also open to in person meet ups if the client requests.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I always let the cat lead an interaction. I start with sitting down in the cat’s vicinity and slow blink at them to show I’m not a threat. If they approach, I’ll put my hand on out and low to let the cat sniff. If the cat doesn’t approach, I’ll sit and mind my own business for a couple minutes so the cat doesn’t feel intimidated.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
