I am incredibly vigilant and take the utmost care to ensure the cats I am with are healthy, happy, and feeling safe. Any changes to your cats behavior will not go unnoticed... Hello! Helping and rescuing cats is one of my most important goals- makes sense as I have been surrounded by cats my entire life! I currently have two cats that I love with my whole heart, along with a foster. While I would love to rescue all the cats in the world, due to space and money constraints I hope to pass my love over to your cats for the time being!
I am incredibly vigilant and take the utmost care to ensure the cats I am with are healthy, happy, and feeling safe. Any changes to your cats behavior will not go unnoticed. I am also patient, which has been helpful when gaining a cats trust during rescuing and meeting new feline friends. While I can be very friendly and active, I can adjust my behavior to be in tune with the cat I am sitting! I believe it is important to reflect to them that I am a safe and loving presence.
As someone that worries about my cats when I travel, I feel better knowing they are being taken care of as best as possible. And I want you to feel the same- I can ensure your cats tummies will be full and their litterbox clean!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
As someone that has owner cats my entire life, I have decades of experience feeding, cleaning, and playing with cats!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love getting to know new cats and I feel at peace knowing that I am able to provide a safe and happy environment for cats in their parents absence. I know that I am doing the best I can to ensure their happiness, and that in itself is rewarding!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I fostered a cat for a TNR project for a week- he was feral and not happy about my presence but watching him get better was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. Spending time with him from afar, watching him eat more every day, even making sure he used the bathroom was something I felt happy doing. I also got to know him a little bit better in that week, and for that I am so grateful!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two cats namrd Tima and Nala, along with my current foster that I rescued after she was dumped near a colony I feed!

Shelly accepted a BIG challenge to care for our indoor colony =39 cats ranging in age from 2 to 18 for nearly a week and…she nailed it!! Feeding and cleaning litter boxes 2x a day plus administering meds to 2 who required it. It was a lot to expect from a “sitter” and since it was our first experience with her and this service, we were a bit apprehensive but she was amazing and made 39 new friends 😻. We thank her immensely and highly recommend her. Thanks for doing a great job Shelly !!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Staten Island cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
