What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have cat sitting on and off since I was about 15 so we’re talking 40 years. I started at a young age and work at a animal hospital and have 2 cats if my own.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Letting them know they are not alone while their parents are away. I love when I earn their trust to let me love on them.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I’ve had cats my whole life. Currently, I have 2 tuxedo cats. They are rescues and their names are Figaro and Marty.

Elizabeth is simply the best! She treated my cats as if they were her own. Smart, resourceful, great communicator and determined. My kitts are sweet but they are not fans of strangers in our home. My little guy, Cooper, is a next level hider. The first day, he didn’t show himself and I made the mistake of not having eyes on him right before leaving. Could he be trapped under the Sleep Number Bed I put down for the vacation?? Elizabeth went back to my home after hearing this and did everything in her power to find him. Her resourcefulness led her to find the bed remote and figure out how to put it up!! Thankfully he wasn’t there. Still not seeing him the next day, she looked everywhere and anywhere a cat could be hiding, then… “I FOUND HIM!” The sweetest three words. It’s hard to explain the comfort she brought me in that moment. She will go above and beyond to care for your cats. She is a true gem. Absolute 20 out of 10!!

When our cat Molly met Elizabeth (Liz)for the first time, it was love at first sight. Molly is typically stand-offish when meeting somebody new, but Liz has such a calm and pleasant demeanor that Molly was quickly at ease with her. By the end of their “meet and greet” my husband and I had total confidence that Molly would be well taken care of while we were on vacation. Liz posted many pictures to assure us that Molly was well and happy in our absence. Molly is looking forward to the next time Liz will come to take care of her.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Suffern cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
