What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
At least 20 years as an adult. I grew up with many cats in the home. As a kid when I babysat I was trusted with animal and house care too. I've been a caregiver and helper my entire life.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love learning their personalities and supporting their needs so they can find calm and joy when their person changes.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I think that would be anytime they learn my routine with them and they anticipate my arrival or create a quirky habit. One cat had a ritual to bat my head from the stair railing everything. Felt like our secret password :)

Jenna is one of the best cat sitters I have ever had. She understands when cat owners have high standards, not only for feeding routines, but also the importance of play or affection that each cat needs. I only booked 20 minute visits because I had bad luck with Meowtel sitters not making connections with my cats; I should have booked 40 minutes. To be fair, my cats are shy and not used to people. However, they warmed up to Jenna, not only because of her good energy, but also because she knows cats. One of my cats wants to play. That is her love language. She rarely plays with visitors, but she did not hold back with Jenna. She acted like a ham who was in love. My other cat is very, very shy, yet yearns for affection. When he does not know you, he will be coy when what he really wants and needs is to be held and sweet-talked. Jenna sent me a creative video of her holding him--and he went all the way which means he leaned into her. I recommend, if one of your priorities while you are away from home is the quality of attention and interaction your cats get, then definitely book Jenna and pay for the extra time. It would be totally worth it.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Eugene cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
