I have been a lifelong cat mom (currently I have two 10 year old kitties) as well as a caregiver to almost every kind of pet under the sun. My experience in professional animal care includes 4 years of sitting jobs, time at doggy daycares and in pet supply retail environments. This all has provided me with a wide array of knowledge in animal care, including grooming, nutritional needs, and some behavioral work/training.

I will likely sit and let your cat come to me before I try to seek it out as I believe this builds a more trusted and bonded relationship with a cat. I know they will likely be confused that their pet parent is gone and so I will approach the situation with the utmost calm so they do not feel any more uncomfortable. I know they are sensitive creatures so I will never bring bad vibrations into you and your pet's home. Just love. I hope you will choose me as your cat's new friend!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
My favorite part of cat sitting is knowing that I am doing good for those who need it, especially our animal friends who are the most innocent and awesome beings. My other favorite part is discovering their unique personalities!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two boys named Mac and Bowie, both ten years old. Bowie is an extremely active tabby kitty and Mac is a very shy all black kitty who I have done years of work to bring out of his shell. They are my world!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I of course take the utmost caution not to cause any stress to these cats. I will never chase them down or do anything that could frighten them. My best method is the passive one, to take my shoes off and sit with a quiet activity and some treats in my hand, and let them come to me when they feel comfortable. I have an extremely skittish cat myself and I know the best thing I can do is sit down with a book to make him appear. If you need a cat whisperer to befriend your shy kitty I am the one!

I haven't done much traveling since I got my cats. I decided I needed to find a reliable service so I could leave my boys and not worry about them. I'm glad that I picked Mary from the available sitters. She has a very relaxed presence and my cats warmed right up to her. She was excellent about communicating with me and when one of my cats got spicy with her she handled it very well.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Eugene cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
