I started volunteering at the Cattery at the Multnomah Animal Shelter in March 2025 but have cared for cats my entire life. Blackjack was my first cat, and he always signed my birthday cards with cute paw prints. 🐾I can also sit for ferrets and bunnies and take care of litter, food, meds, and playtime for them as well.
I appreciate a cat's independence, love the way they communicate, and respect their boundaries. I have received professional training to care for animals in the shelter, but it is training that is applicable outside of that environment and includes understanding cats' body language, meows, and behavior... Hi! 🌞 My name is Angela (she/her). I have a gorgeous 14 year old Tonkinese named Sasha, and I'm in the process of adopting 2 kittens from one of my Meowtel mama cats who recently had a litter of 6. I'm lucky to have roommates that can help me with them if I have to travel, but not everyone has that built in support! I want to be that for you and give you freedom from fear and anxiety when you have to temporarily leave your fur baby behind.

I have administered medicine in foods, topically, and orally with a pill shooter. I am well versed in administering subcutaneous fluid and can provide comprehensive cat care including feeding, litter box cleaning, and playtime!
I take great notes and have thorough record keeping. I am communicative and respectful of your home, your cat and your time. I ask for detailed, written instructions to ensure I meet all expectations. I also appreciate a history of any behavioral, medical or bathroom issues your cat may have. A digitally, accessible form can be prepared for you to complete upon hire.
I work for a nonprofit that allows me to work from anywhere and set my own hours, so I am very flexible and can accommodate most requests. Please be as specific as possible when scheduling because "anytime" for me could be between 7AM and 10PM.
I am used to working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures and am a mom to a gay child. Every person deserves love and respect, as does every animal. Communication is key to every relationship, and I come to the table with an open mind and curiosity, not assumptions.
I am available for overnight care and require disclosure for any video or audio recording devices so that we can discuss appropriate use while I am in your private residence.
I am in the Gresham/Troutdale area, but I am used to traveling in and around the Portland metro area including Tigard, Tualatin and Beaverton so please just ask if you're outside my service zone. 🚘

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Cats are the most interesting domesticated animal, and I love all the varying personalities and preferences they have. Being able to provide caring support to your cats in your absence is a privilege, and I hope that my services give you the opportunity to take care of the things you need to so that when you return, you have a happy, stable cat to greet you with excited meows and sweet purrs.
Are you usually available during holidays?
My availability is very flexible and that includes holidays! Last minute bookings can work too if you find yourself in a pinch!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Patience, respect and empathy are the recipe for success for timid and anxious kitties. Knowing techniques that work such as food motivation and creating a calm environment go a long way too! Having gained the trust of strays in order to get them into shelter care, I believe I have a knack for understanding how to behave in a way that makes hesitant cats feel okay with me.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Gresham cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $32.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
