I've always lived with cats and have had a strong attachment to them. Every kitty has their unique charm. Earning a cat's trust and respect is always an honor. If I am out and I see a cat, I have to stop and say hi. I prefer their company over anyone else's. I was the mother of 4 cats for 12 years. Currently, I have Severus and Rowena who are 7 and 8 years old... I have worked in professional pet care for over 10 years, including dog daycare, dog walking, pet sitting (including overnights), and pet grooming. I have experience with medication distribution including pills, insulin injections, and topical ointments such as flea preventatives. During my many years of pet service, I have never encountered a problem with pets or clients I could not handle. If I could spend the rest of my life caring for various kitties every day, I'd be very happy.

I am a full-time student at Clark College where I am earning a BFA in Visual Arts (focusing on animation and illustration).
I moved to Vancouver, Washington in March of 2022 from southern California.
I love to paint, do creative writing, and photograph my collection of fashion dolls.
I am fully vaccinated against Covid-19. My overnight services include basic housekeeping: sweeping, dishwashing, disinfecting surfaces, and tidied up. If extra precautions such as mask wearing or gloves are requested while I stay with your kitties during any visits, I will be 100% compliant.
I am willing to travel 10 miles outside of 98683 for kitty services. I have open availability for 1 or 2 day visits. I have excellent time management skills I have required from working in pet care where sometimes I would take on 5 different clients in one day. I can work with your schedule. I am also available for overnight pet sitting with very few calendar restrictions.

Our cats are very skittish and shy. They panic and hide under the couch when anyone comes in the house. I was worried they would hide for a week and not eat while we were gone. Melissa watched the food and verified it was being eaten and litter boxes were being used. Melissa also spent time encouraging them and reaching out to them. By the end of the week one cat was coming out for play & pets and the other cat was wanting to be petted from her hiding spot. I think if we had been gone longer she would have come out. Melissa got my super shy cats to warm up to her, amazing!

The reservation was seamless. Melissa was near my neighborhood and available. Melissa came by my apartment daily to check on my 2 cats, she spent time with them, cleaned the cat boxes provided fresh water every day and followed my feeding directions to the "T". Melissa is knowledgeable about feline health and would report to me every day the condition and attitudes of my cats, their feeding and drinking behavior and she sent me photos every day with her and my cats - they sure were happy each day to see her come in the door! Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Vancouver cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
