In my friend group, I’ve always been the resident cat sitter, sometimes even temporarily housing cats for friends who were between moves! I’ve watched all types of cats, from young and playful to old and downright cranky; I love them all - the best thing about cats is how different they all are and I enjoy getting each and every one of them to trust me.
It’s so important with cats to read the room and meet them where they’re at, and I can always tell which cats like instant pets and cuddles and which need more time to get comfy. However, pet parents know their kits best and I always want to hear from you first - if your cat has any unique things they love/hate, please share, I’d never think I know more than you about your own kitty!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Before I began cat sitting on the apps a few months ago, I helped friends and family with watching their kitties for over a decade. I even kept a friend’s cat in my home for a couple of months while she was overseas once, and gosh was that kitty a challenge at first, but she quickly became comfy with me and we were snuggling within a few days. I enjoy very much getting to meet new kitty-clients and experiencing all of their unique personalities.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I treat my client’s house and pets as if they were my own - meaning if I have to leave my kitties for an overnight I get mildly neurotic about making sure all doors and windows are locked, that anything potentially dangerous is in accessible, that the inside temperature is comfortable, and take efforts to make it seem like the house isn’t empty and someone could be home.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Most holidays I’ll be staying in Portland and would be happy to take the stress off your shoulders of having to leave your pet(s) behind.

Caitlin was extremely communicative and sent photos of my kitties everyday while I was away! When one of my cats had medical emergency, Caitlin was very attentive and got connected with my emergency contact ASAP and made sure they made it to the vet. Caitlin did absolutely everything I would have hoped they would do in a stressful situation like that, and I'm extremely grateful for them!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Portland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

I would HIGHLY suggest Caitlin to everyone who is looking for a cat sitter. Caitlin took care of my cat for an extended period of time, and at one point my cat was exhibiting signs of a respiratory infection. Caitlin immediately sent me a video of the symptoms, said she felt it was best for my cat to go to the vet, and took her there! She got the medicine my cat needed and administered it to her. My cat was better by the time I returned. She is a cat wizard, because my cat is NOT easy to put in a crate and is also 16 lbs! Caitlin always communicated very clearly and effectively. She’s an incredible person and amazing cat mom. Anyone who finds her as their cat sitter is LUCKY!
