My name is Chrissy (41) from San Diego. I’m a cat (and dog) lover living in NE Portland. I’ve worked at Trader Joe’s as a sign artist since 2007 and I love exploring the PNW. I understand the unique needs of each kitty I’ve cared for, and know how to read their individual behaviors. Playtime is always the best, but I know some cats prefer a calm lap to enjoy as well.. or to be left alone 😸 I lived with a friend in the past who had a Tortie cat (iykyk) that would either head butt me for pets or attack me randomly without warning, so I know how to respect space and can read tail/body language pretty well! So if you have a wary kitty that you’re worried about, I got you. I have also sat for kidney cats and others that required medications and strict meal requirements so I can handle that as well. I always bring treats (if it’s ok with you!) so I can get a paw up on befriending your fur children.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Petting cats! I love seeing their personalities and spending time with them and playing. Is there anything better than a cat who chooses your lap?
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently do not have cats (RIP) but I’ve had many companions since birth. Midnight, Wally, Biffer, Daisy, Prince Felix, and Cheddar. Meowtel allows me the joy of kitty time while I wait for the universe to bring me a new furry friend.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I’m not typically a holiday traveler so if you are, I’ll be there for you! You can relax on you trip knowing your cat(s) are being cared for by me 💖

We had such a wonderful experience with Chrissy! Right upon meeting her I knew I would feel at ease entrusting our home and cats to her care. My cats are hiders but she somehow coaxed them out (she even brought her own special treats, with my approval) and sent us the cutest photos and videos. She ran the dishwasher so we could come home to clean dishes, which was very sweet. In addition to her cat whispering abilities, Chrissy is also a plant whisperer! My patio plants that under my care wither under my watering errors are now all lush and happy. She even revived the cats' half-dead wheat grass. In summary, Chrissy is a wonderful, conscientious person - a Mary Poppins of sorts - and I would hire her again in an instant. Thank you, Chrissy!

Chrissy was wonderful to work with. She is warm, personable, kind and attentive to all the details. She took great care of our kitty and was super communicative with updates and photos. We have a male kitty who had a urinary blockage several years ago and Chrissy was very empathetic about our routines with feeding Mingus, litter box usage and attention to those details. She was so thoughtful in every way. We highly recommend Chrissy!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Portland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Chrissy is an amazing pet sitter, and my cats absolutely adore her! She is reliable, caring, and clearly a true animal person. One of my favorite things was getting adorable photo updates while I was away. Honestly, it felt like my cats were on their own little vacation 😹 It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were getting lots of love, attention, and playtime.
