When meeting new cats, I like to give them space and let them get to know me in their own way since every cat has a unique personality and approach to new people.
I have experience with many types of food, litter box situations, and oral medications. I also understand and respect the particularities that cat parents may have to accommodate their cats’ needs.
I give a full report after each visit, along with some photos taken during my time with your cat.
I’m also happy to water plants and fetch the mail if that’s helpful while you’re away.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love getting to know new cats. It’s always a triumph when a shy kitty finally warms up to me and comes around for pets or play time.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 3 kitties: Price Bopadopalus is a big black rodeo cat (a rescue from Pendleton) who loves when I hold and dance him around to music in the living room. Amelia is a very shy girl who had an eye condition from birth. After a surgery in 2018 when she was young, she has been able to see mostly at a distance, but not much up close. Taking care of this special girl has been demanding, but truly rewarding as she is the absolute sweetest cat to cuddle with once she finally warmed up to me. She has short black fur and the sweetest little face with her squinty eyes. Claire is the long haired queen of the house. She is the friendly cat who greets anyone who comes in the house and demands her respects be paid in pets, love, and preferably some treats. She is always camer ready.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I love an in-person meet and greet so you can introduce me to your cat(s), the spaces in your home, and the routine you’d like me to follow. I know cats love predictability and their special routines! I will want to know which vet clinic you use in case something unexpected comes up. I may take some notes, and it’s always helpful if you want to leave a checklist or your own notes for me to follow. I know medicines, vet clinics, or routines may change over time, so an updated note on the counter or a message in Meowtel is always helpful so I’m up to date on your cat’s care needs.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Portland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
