What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
What I enjoy most about cat sitting is getting to know each cat’s unique personality! I love that every cat has their own quirks, routines, and way of showing affection. I also really enjoy knowing that I’m giving pet parents peace of mind while they’re away. As a cat parent myself, I know how much our pets mean to us, and I love being able to give them the same love, attention, and care I’d want someone to give Billie.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I like to start by getting to know both you and your cat! Before the first visit, I’ll ask about your cat’s personality, routine, feeding schedule, litter box preferences, medications (if applicable), and any specific needs or instructions you’d like me to know. I’m also happy to arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand if you’d like! I’d love the opportunity to meet your kitty, learn a little more about their personality and routine, and make sure you feel comfortable with me caring for them while you’re away. Once I’m caring for your cat, I’ll follow their normal routine as closely as possible, give them plenty of attention, and send updates/photos so you know how they’re doing. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable knowing your cat is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I always try to meet cats where they’re at and let them set the pace. For timid or anxious cats, I won’t force interaction or overwhelm them. I’ll give them space, move slowly, speak calmly, and use treats, toys, or gentle play if they’re comfortable with it. Even if a shy cat doesn’t want to come out or interact with me right away, I’ll still make sure they’re cared for and check that they’re eating, drinking, and using the litter box normally. I’m happy to follow any strategies that their pet parent knows work best for them.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
