My name is Emma and I've been caring for and loving cats for my whole life. Cats are the heart of the home and nothing is more important to me than making sure your little creature is safe, happy and healthy. I have a polydactyl kitty of my own named Romeo, and often take care of my friends' pets when they're away.
Getting to know a cat isn't a process that can or should be rushed- I will take my time introducing myself to your cat and making sure they're comfortable with me in their space! I am very patient with all animals and always follow whatever pace they're comfortable with.
I feel comfortable with most caring responsibilities, including giving cats medication in liquid and pill form.
I often have free mornings all week and can offer later evening visits as well. I tend to stick around the area for the holidays and can offer visits around then according to your needs.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love getting to know all sorts of cat personalities- especially the troublemakers and shy ones! And of course playing with cats and giving lots of cuddles is the best part of the job.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I currently have a one year old black boy cat named Romeo! We go on walks together (with a harness and leash) and he is incredibly sociable. My family cat back home is a beautiful calico named Silvie, who is now 14. I raised her from birth and learned so much about cat behavior from her. Now she doesn't leave my side whenever I'm visiting!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Patience, patience, patience! Cats don't like to be pushed and even the shyest cats will come around with time, safety and care. Showing a cat you're a "safe person" by giving treats, playing with them, and never forcing them to socialize or cuddle if they don't want to is my go-to approach.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Providence cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
