Mum To Tinybug And Dutty

I'm Meg

Cat Sitting in Myrtle Beach, SC

Hi, I’m Meg!! A lifelong cat lover, proud cat mom to my 7-year-old babygirl, Lilo, and to my crazy rascal little boy, Dutton. I’m the person who notices the little things: whether a cat ate less than usual, their litter box habits seem different, they’re hiding somewhere unusual, or their body language is telling me they need a little more space.

What sets me apart is that I genuinely understand that every cat needs something different. Some want a lap immediately while others need you to sit quietly across the room and let them decide when you’ve earned their trust. I’m patient, observant, calm, and happy to meet your cat exactly where they are. I’m also experienced with introducing cats to one another and managing separate feeding, litter, and personal spaces while they adjust.

I’m patient, observant, calm, and happy to meet your cat exactly where they are. My Cat Care Skills below!

I’m comfortable with feeding routines and automatic feeders, refreshing water and fountains, scooping and maintaining traditional and automatic litter boxes, interactive play and enrichment, brushing (teeth and hair), treats!! (& treat puzzles), monitoring eating, drinking, and litter-box habits, and keeping a cat’s environment tidy and comfortable. I’m also very attentive to doors and entrances…I know how quickly a curious cat can become an escape artist!!

What a Visit With Me Looks Like:

I don’t believe in walking in, filling a bowl, scooping the litter box, and leaving. I want your cat to actually benefit from my visit.

I’ll start by locating and checking on your kitty and making sure everything looks normal. I’ll take care of food, fresh water, and the litter box, then spend the remaining time based on your cat’s personality and normal routine. That could mean throwing a mousey and zoomies, petting and cuddles, sitting together quietly, or simply giving a shy kitty some company without overwhelming them (reading like a statue in the corner so they know I am there but not breathing too loudly to disturb them lol)

And my signature cat sitting touch? Your kitty gets their own little journal entry after every visit. 😂 I love sending parents a “Look Mom, this is what I did today!” update written from their cat’s point of view, along with plenty of pictures. You’ll hear about ALLLL the important thing of course: showing much they ate, litter-box activity, behavior, and anything I noticed, but also the fun stuff: what we played with, where they decided to nap, whether I was deemed worthy of cuddles, and whatever mischief they got into that day.

Before leaving, I’ll make sure everything is clean, comfortable, and secure. And if I notice anything unusual, even something small, you’ll know about it.

I work full time in higher education and officiate women’s lacrosse, so reliability, communication, attention to detail, and being where I say I’ll be are important parts of who I am. I also understand how much trust it takes to give someone access to your home and, more importantly, responsibility for a member of your family.

My goal is simple: you should be able to leave town without worrying about your cat. I’ll care for them with the same attention, patience, and affection I want someone to give mine and you’ll get a little glimpse into their day while you’re away. 🐱🤍

Learn More About Meg

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I was once watching a cat named Mitzy and she was the most hilarious cat I have ever met. She fetches like a dog and her owner asked me to throw this little disc she had until she tired. I threw that disc for an entire hour before she stopped bringing it back no joke. It was the craziest thing I have ever witnessed and to this day I look forward getting to play with Mitz, a true catdog!!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have a baby girl of my own, Lilo, who I call tiny bug since she was the runt of her litter. I swear she did not grow for the first year of her life and I thought she would be tiny for furrrrever but my tiny bug loves to eat and has a full pouchy to show it lol My boyfriend recently got a little buddy on Easter Sunday and his name is Dutton. We call him Dutty and he is exactly the type of chaotic baby brother my baby girl needed to keep her on her toes. The two of them have been breaking into the treat closet and playing all day since the day they met!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I would meet them if possible before you hire them so that you can gauge their personality and compatability. I also would be as detailed as possible about your expectations. If they are asking for a higher fee I would make sure they are actually providing a more quality service.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Myrtle Beach cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $23.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
