I have been a volunteer at a local cat cafe since 2022. I help take care of 15-20 cats there. So I have lots of experience with taking care of cats with all different types of personalities. I am proud to say that I am a part of helping over 475 cats find their forever homes so far.
I also do TNR in my nei... I have had cats since I was one years old. I can’t imagine my life without cats! I currently have 5 kitty babies at home: Lily, Piggy, Jude, Nuglet, and Tootie.

I also do TNR in my neighborhood. I trap the feral kitties and get them fixed and rerelease them back into the neighborhood to help control the population. They deserve kindness as well!
As a pet sitter, I would treat your cats like they were my own. I would let them be whoever they are: shy, outgoing, sleepy, or playful! I would provide great care with whatever their needs may be: food, clean water, scooping, medicine, or play time. I absolutely love kitties and can’t wait to meet yours!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Getting to meet new cats. I want all the cats in the world to love me!… I really just appreciate making people feel at ease when they aren’t home and are away from their kitties. I know I get very anxious when I am out of town, knowing that my babies are alone. So I always want to make people feel more comfortable knowing that their cats are in good hands.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have five cats. Their names are Lily, Piggy, Jude, Nuglet, and Tootie. They are my world! They are all rescue babies.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
My typical process when working with new cat parents at the cat cafe is telling them that it takes time. Cats need lots of time to adjust to any new circumstances. You have to be very patient with cats!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I ensure that cats are not near the doors when I am entering and exiting. I make sure that they feel safe and comfortable with me and give them time. I also ensure that they have food, clean water, and their litter boxes are scooped. I always make sure the door is locked behind me!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
My kitty Jude was very timid and anxious when I first met him at the cat cafe where I volunteer. I think he may have been hurt by humans in the past. And he was definitely abandoned. It took months, but I laid down next to him and talked softly to him. I gently pet him and gave him treats. I think shy and anxious cats just need lots of patience and love.

My three cats are typically pretty shy when it comes to other people in the house besides me - my two boys especially. Tucker takes his own sweet time to warm up to another person, and often he won’t let anyone pet him unless I’m there. Benjamin will hide under the covers, but if the blankets are gently lifted to where he can be seen, he will bolt to a different hiding place. When Briana came over for two consecutive days, she sent me pictures of Tucker letting her pet him and Benjamin staring at her from under the covers without bolting. It brought me such peace and comfort to see how my cats were responding to Briana‘s patience and gentleness with them. Thank you so much, Briana, for miraculously connecting with my babies. 🐈⬛

If you are unable to take your kitties with you for whatever reason, Briana is the person you WANT to have watch your furbabies, she has never met a kitty she didn't like. She is very patient with shy, scared kitties and also handles very outgoing friendly kitties very, very well!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Arlington cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
