What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have worked I professionally taking cats in pet hotel and in client's homes since 2014. I have worked at 2 pet hotels in this time. I've taken cate of 100s of cats in this time. I am experienced in a range of ages, temperaments and special needs.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Meeting a new animal friend! 😊 Each kitty has a distinct personality. I took care of one recently that could open doors. We had a blast!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I would have to say my favorite cat that I've petsat was this Bengal cat named Rain in Portland, Oregon. She was extraordinarily beautiful and my first exotic pet to take care of. It was such a cool experience to be able to take care of an exotic cat! She had a huge cat wheel that she loved to exercise on multiple times a day. She always loved sunbathing outside, so we loved going on walks in her huge bamboo garden. Her mom was very sweet and had a harness and tether set up in the massive back yard so she could have a sense of freedom. She could wander the back yard while I was outside watering the garden.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have 2 very spoiled Kitties😺Catniss Everpurrs &😺 Squeakers. *Catniss is a 1 and half year old Tortie shell and she's definitely got "tortie-tude" Her favorite past times are zooming through the apartment making her own sound effects. haha. She also loves cuddles on her own terms. She will walk over to you and flop right on top of you (purring the whole time-SO LOUD! lol). *Squeakers is a 10 years old Tuxedo cat. Fancy may not be in his name but it's in his soul. His favorite past times are sunbathing in the window sill on his cat bed people & bird watching, cat naps and cat nip inspired aerobics on his cat tree.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

*Always ask if prices are negotiable if you find a sitter's page that you love but may be outside of your budget. -I adjust my prices to meet my reoccurring clients' needs. *Always talk to the sitter and lay out as many details as possible about your kitty's special needs, even if they seem small. -Example: I had a job where at 2am the cat would get bored and swat the blind dog. The pet parents were very sweet but forgot to tell me to separate them at bedtime and lay out a cardboard nose work/ obstacle box with treats inside for the kitty. It was a fix that they had learned. (The cat loved the dog but was just wanted her brother to wake up and play with her at night.)

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

*Introduce myself/ touch base after receiving booking request. *View the pet's profile/ details about pet that the owner sent over. *Send a message to owners telling them that I've viewed their pet profiles & ask them if there are any special requests or needs during the petsitting service. *Check the dates that they are needing for a sitter vs my availability *Automatically put the service in my calendar as "possibly petsitting for ..." *Give the owner time to respond. *When owner reaches out, set up a Meet & Greet to meet their furbaby and give the owners to give me a run-down of the home & the pet's routine. *If all go well and we both feel like it's a good fit then I will book the service. *Service dates: HD photo/ Video updates sent (at least 4 for drop ins & overnight stays bulk photo/ video updates at least once a day according to owner's wants."

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

*Always keep an eye on my surroundings when opening any doors for cats *Keep any eye out for any abnormal signs of illness/ injury *Stick to their normal routine so they don't feel stressed *Administration of meds on time & properly

Are you usually available during holidays?

Absolutely, this is my busiest time of the year! Holiday rates will apply.

What is your favorite cat toy?

The bouncing doorway mouse. My youngest kitty is obsessed with this toy! She pulls it down the stairs and it zips right back to the door. She has an absolute blast! A plus is it helping her independent play and regulate some of her high energy bursts.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

*Give them their space *Let them approach me *Never stick my hand/ face in theirs *Take care of them as per usual until they see I'm not a threat *Give them their favorite snacks/ treats *Speaking them softly & sweetly I've found very few kitties that didn't warm up to me. Even the spiciest of kitties I've cat whispered my way into being besties with in no time. Cats are like women. They will let you know what they like and don't like. You just have to listen.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
