What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve babysat through word of mouth from shelter volunteers I worked with, including overnight stays, as well as for neighbors and family members. Most of my experience has come through personal referrals, so im a bit of a newie to using apps to offer my services but im excited to start!

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I’ve always had a passion for animals, especially cats, and I love being able to work with them. I’m confident in my ability to understand each cat’s individual needs, whether that means giving them plenty of space or plenty of affection.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I cat sat for a woman for about a year until she sadly passed away from cancer. Her cats were the sweetest boys, and I feel lucky to have known both them and their mom. It was my first cat sitting job, and it taught me a lot about caring for cats and building trust with both pets and their owners.

I highly recommend Maya! She took wonderful care of my three cats during a 10-day trip. One of my cats, Stella, is diabetic and requires twice-daily insulin injections and blood glucose monitoring. Maya handled all of Stella’s medical care with confidence and great attention to detail. During the first few days, Stella experienced some emotional distress from my absence and wasn’t eating well. Maya gave her extra care and attention, kept a close eye on her condition, and communicated with me regularly to provide updates, which gave me tremendous peace of mind. Maya also took excellent care of my home by watering my plants, bringing in the mail, emptying the garbage, and leaving everything in great condition. I returned to happy cats and a well-cared-for home. I’m incredibly grateful for Maya’s professionalism, compassion, and reliability, and I would gladly trust her with my pets again. Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
