What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve worked with cats and cat sitting for almost a decade. It’s been a very rewarding part time job for me.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love all of their unique personalities and giving them lots of petting and love. I’ve always been really good with cats. I’m somewhat of a whisperer.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

There is a cat that I’ve been taking care of for many years. Her name is Dottie. She’s all white and very soft fur. She’s very loving and she loves to get brushed regularly. She does these funny poses to get my attention. She’s pretty hilarious.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes, I have one cat and her name is Kiki. I found her when she was a baby abandoned in a field when I was out walking. I took her home with me and was not planning on keeping her. my wife started bottle feeding her, and that was it. She was part of the family. and I’m so glad, because she is just the sweetest, most loving cat.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I think the customer should always do a meet and greet or at least do a FaceTime Meet and greet to go over all of the instructions and to just make the overall experience more comfortable.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I normally do a meet and greet or a FaceTime, meet and greet and go over everything that is expected, instructions, and everything that I need to know about the cat and about the home.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I have a good habit of always locking doors when I’m entering and leaving a home, including my own home. I always make sure that the cat has access to food, water, and a litter box. so basically, I always make sure that all doors are locked, and alarm is set, if requested, and the cat has everything they need to be comfortable when I leave the home.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I always work during the holidays. I usually take two vacations a year and they are around the holidays.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

In that case, I would sit down and grab a toy or a treat to kind of earn the trust of the cat. If a cat does not want to have contact with me, I just leave them alone And make sure that they have everything they need.
