I'm Nicole

Cat Sitting in Garland, TX

I am a lifelong fur baby parent (dogs and cats). I had the pleasure of working at an Animal Hospital in Dallas Tx while in college and pet sat for clients regularly (6 years). While working at the animal hospital I interacted with varying clients and fur patients, and learned so much about preventative care and also treatments. Over the years because of this experience and my love for animals, my friends and family often turn to me for advice when they have pet questions. In addition to basic care, I have experience in administering insulin injections and IV fluids. My grandmother's poodle became diabetic in his later years and required daily insulin injections. One of my own cats needed IV fluids every few days as he was 17 and having some kidney issues. My vet (boss at the time), showed me how to do this at home so I did not have to bring him to the clinic as much. This helped reduce his anxiety a lot. I understand how difficult it is when pets get older and begin to have special needs, and frequent trips to the vet are hard on them and us as parents... I understand how difficult it is when pets get older and begin to have special needs, and frequent trips to the vet are hard on them and us as parents. If we can find a solution to help them at home, then that is best! In addition to basic care and feeding, oral/injectable medications and treatments, I also offer mail pick-up, light and blind/shade rotations, and plant care to keep your household active while you are away. With regard to fees for my services, my rates are based on experience, knowledge, reliability, my time, and mileage/travel expenses.

With my own pets I have always been hyper-focused on their whereabouts and activities. Presently we have 1 indoor only cat, and have always instituted an indoor only policy for all our cats (unless supervised closely). When leaving/arriving home, I do not feel comfortable until I see them safe and sound. My own cat has gastro sensitivities and cannot eat anything but his prescription food, so I habitually am careful to not leave things out that could be harmful, and if any food falls on the floor it is picked up immediately. My own cat sees a specialist in addition to a primary vet, and I am very diligent in keeping him safe and healthy. Lastly, I understand that not only are you entrusting me with your cat, you are relying on me to be trustworthy and responsible in your home. I will treat your home with the respect that I would hope mine would be given when under another's care.
When caring for any pet, my goal is to make them as happy as can be while I am with them. All while keeping them safe! All pets have different preferences, and I am willing to accommodate to their needs. If they are happy, then I am happy!!

Learn More About Nicole

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I started cat sitting over 30 years ago while I was working for a veterinarian in college. I continued to take care of friends and families pets throughout the years. About 2 years ago, I decided to start my own part-time pet sitting business.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

First, I want to learn about your cat and understand their likes and dislikes. Are there certain areas they do not like to be touched, where are their hiding places, what do their different behaviors mean, etc. Also it is important for me to understand your expectations, and what will provide you with security and confidence in entrusting me to care for your fur baby. We all have our routines with our pets and know what works and what doesn't. My goal is to support their routine to make our visits together enjoyable and exceed your expectations.

Are you usually available during holidays?

My family is all local and we are homebodies. This allows me to routinely be available and provide consistent care for your cat(s).

I was absolutely thrilled with our cat sitter, Nicole! She followed all of my care instructions to a T and was incredibly meticulous. I so appreciated the consistent updates and the photos—everything from litter box cleanings to water bowl refills and food time. My favorite part was seeing pictures of her actually playing with and petting my cats. You could tell they trusted her. Honestly, the kitty butts must’ve really liked her because she even got the full family treatment—a classic cat temper tantrum and all 😂 Every update felt thoughtful and a little different each day, which I really loved. I was deeply relieved knowing my cats were in such great hands and could fully enjoy my trip because of it. I’m super grateful and would 100% use Nicole again. Highly, highly recommend!

Nicole showed up every day, played with the cats and took photos, and gave a detailed account of the visit each day. Food and water were refilled and the boxes were cleaned. She answered questions and communicated well. Would hire her again.

Nicole was the perfect sitter for our two troublesome devil cats, who were apparently little angels for her while we were away. She was prompt and reliable and communicative. I would love to have Nicole as a repeat sitter, she put us at ease knowing our cats were in good care.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Garland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
