What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Most of my life, I’ve been surrounded by cats! From family and friends to being lucky enough to have a few of my own, I’ve always been familiar with taking care of kitties. I’ve cat sitted for family/friends through out 7 years and have had cat companions for 5 years now. While I am new to professional apps, I am confident in my abilities to provide the utmost care to your cat(s). In my experience, I’ve provided quality routine tasks with no issues, while maintaining a channel of communication with the owner through detailed reports and video/picture updates.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
My biggest piece of advice is to schedule a Meet & Greet before the booking begins. This ensures the sitter and your cat are a good match, and it allows you to walk through your cat’s specific routine in person. I also highly recommend writing down detailed care instructions. Include things such as veterinarian information, favorite hiding spots, and any unique personality quirks. In my opinion, the more information a sitter has, the more seamless and stress-free the care will be for your cat. Clear communication is key!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
My process starts with a Meet & Greet to get to know both the parent and the cat. Every kitty has a unique personality that I prefer to get to know beforehand. Getting to know the parent is just as important, whether virtually or in person, I’d love to introduce myself before providing care. The parent and I will review the daily routines and house rules. I take detailed notes of the cats likes & dislikes, such as their preferred method of play or if they enjoy their space. I am a big proponent of implementing reassurance into this process. I will send photos, videos, and detailed text updates during and after every single visit to ensure peace of mind.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Houston cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
