I like to respect a cat's environment and routine as I know that they need time to adjust to new smells and someone invading their space. I let cats approach me first, and simply do everything I can do make them comfortable and feel safe and respected... Hello, I'm Haley! I own three kitties of my own (Clawd, Cleo, and Arty) and have owned cats since before I could talk! 😸 My dad was a veterinarian before he retired, and I grew up helping out with animals and even worked for him for a couple of years (so I am familiar with handling needles, pills, topical ointments, and weight management). I have also volunteered at cat shelters for years as well, and have never met a cat I didn't immediately fall in love with.
I like to respect a cat's environment and routine as I know that they need time to adjust to new smells and someone invading their space. I let cats approach me first, and simply do everything I can do make them comfortable and feel safe and respected. If a cat shows they're okay with me, of course they'll be showered with pets and cuddles! But, I won't be offended if they're more comfortable hiding under the couch.
My cat, Clawd, suffers from trauma from before my husband adopted him, so I am accustomed to caring for traumatized and nervous cats that need a little extra patience and space to feel at home.
For cat-sitting, I prefer to invade the cat's space as minimally as possible. I would rather make multiple trips to the home to care for the cat than occupy their space for extended periods of time (i.e. overnight stays). Many cats are often territorial and don't like new people right away, and I don't want to induce any more stress than I have to!

While I am NOT a licensed professional and therefore cannot provide medical advice, I have cared for cats for a very long time and will provide whatever appropriate advice I can! 😸

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Every sitting is educational! Cats are extremely unique, and I've never met two cats with the same personality. I love cats, and have looked for ways to care for and spend time with them my whole life, whether through volunteering at shelters or working as a vet assistant. Cat sitting is also a low-impact job, which is perfect for my health. Best of both worlds!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My cats are Arty, Cleo, and Clawd! My husband was the original owner of Cleo and Clawd, but I have owned Arty ever since he was 3 weeks old. He's now 9 years old! Arty was rescued from a rural farm as a kitten. He grew into a very sassy little man that loves cuddles and attention. However, years ago, Arty nearly lost his life to a single thread. He swallowed a long thread from a blanket, which got wrapped around his intestines and nearly killed him. My vet performed an hour-long, life-saving surgery on him, and he was in intensive care (that I provided) for weeks. I slept on the bathroom floor with him for many nights and never left his side. He made a miraculous full recovery and lives a normal life! He is my pride and joy
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I always ensure the cats have clear access to food, water, a litter box, and a hiding place. I'm familiar with escape artists, so I keep an eye out for open doors and windows. I also know that cats are able to squish themselves into the weirdest places. I have NEVER lost a cat, and I very much intend on keeping that perfect record!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
- November 8-14: Veterans Day
- November 23-29: Thanksgiving
- December 22-28: Christmas
- December 29-31: New Year's 2027

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

League City cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
