I love all animals, but I do have an extra soft spot for cats. I’m genuinely excited to spend time with your cat.

My presence is designed to alleviate loneliness, anxiety, and boredom when you can’t be there. Cats do not do well with boarding. It’s extremely stressful for them. Let me come into your home to care for them so they can stay happy and healthy while you’re away.

I offer a wide variety of timed visits depending on your needs. I also offer overnight visits if your pet needs extra time and cuddles. Your home will be respected and well-cared for.

I will communicate with pictures and texts every time I visit so you can feel connected to your pet no matter where you are. I’m also happy to bring in packages and mail, water plants, etc. I have extensive house sitting experience so I will always take a look around and make sure your home is safe and secure.

I’m a civilian in law enforcement, and have been for the last 18 years. Before that I was an On-Site Property Manager for a self storage facility.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been cat sitting regularly for 5 years. I’ve had pets in the past, and have done both house and pet sitting for years.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I absolutely adore cats! Spending time with them is a treat. I love discovering their personalities. They really are just like little furry people.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My cats have passed on, but they were Mandy and Megan. I miss them all the time. My current landlord doesn’t allow pets, so I’m very happy to cuddle with yours.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Cats are independent, but after a few days they all get lonely and benefit from the presence of a caring person. Boarding them is not only inconvenient, but it’s very hard on them physically and emotionally. Talk to me in advance about how best to maximize my time with your pet, while still being conscious of your budget.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am almost always available during holidays. My regular job is 24/7/365, and so I’m usually in town for holidays. I’m happy to help with your cat during busy holiday times.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

It sounds lazy, but I generally just sit quietly in the home, near wherever the cat is. I may read, or look at my phone for a while. Being quiet and still honestly works most of the time. Cats can be timid, but they’re also curious. They almost always come out to check me out. Especially if I get a treat out for them. It’s a great way to keep them comfortable, and let our meeting be on their terms.

Our little girl Arya loves Michelle! In the past, when we'd leave her with a sitter, she would not do so well with anxiety: poor grooming, throwing up, etc. Since using Michelle and Meowtel, Arya has been doing really well. When we returned home from our trip, our girl was calm, happy, and not very distressed at all. I certainly think Michelle has made her feel more comfortable while we are gone and this has allowed Arya to not dread the annual trip so much.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
