What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I've been caring cats for many many moons-since 1999 professionally and personally. I was once a cat mom of 9!

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

One of many: I have a kitten who loves drinking water from my finger tips, loves for me to put ice cubes on the bottom of cups, for him to knock off, loves for me to brush him, from underneath the bed!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Pick someone who has a true passion for caring for animals. It's not just a job/something to do, to them. Someone who is detailed, extremely reliable, has great communication skills. Someone who will take lots of pictures! Who doesn't love a ton of pictures of their pet?!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I always walk in, looking down, keeping door slightly ajar, making sure, no kitty is by the door. I often bring a door blocker (usually my sunshade), to assist me in making sure, the kitty doesn't get out. Rattling my keys, (sometimes the noise is a deterrent), throwing in treats, (if the parent is ok with that), to keep them from escaping out the front door. Once inside, securing the door, checking the rooms for possible items that could cause harm to the kitty, (example, kitty could choke on yarn, get trapped underneath a bed).

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I prefer clients to book ahead and reserve their spot. Holidays fill up fast and the earlier for the booking, is best.

What is your favorite cat toy?

Any robotic toy with lights, bells and whistles, that the cat will chase!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I don't rush or force the relationship. I let the kitty come to me. Playing kitty sounds, placing treats around, playing with their toys to see if they would like to join me, meowing back if the kitty meows.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
