What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Many years helping friends, neighbors, clients whenever they go out of town. I enjoy providing that security for my friends and their little ones.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I went to feed two cats, boy and girl, during the ice storm recently. I had to slide down a hill on the ice to get there and they were super happy to see me. I wasn't going to let them go hungry because of the weather.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Gizzy. Tuxedo cat, she is incredibly shy around others but is very loving and attached 24/7.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Trust your instincts. Ask them questions to see how genuine they are, make sure they care, they listen and are mature.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
My cat is very timid and anxious. I respect their boundaries first of all. I also use my voice to show I am friendly and happy to see them. I will let them dictate the diplomacy.

David is the absolute best and has singlehandedly changed our cats' experience for the better. Lenny, our male cat, would get depressed after several days of us being away (multiple different pet sitters said the same thing). But after repeated pet sits with David, Lenny and our female cat Lucy got to know him and have really warmed up to him. Now when we travel we are relieved to know that our cats are getting the love and attention they need for their health and happiness. We've noticed them feeling a lot more chipper and energized when we come home. David is super tuned in to our cats' emotions and respects them as equals, which for us means caring for them with the level of attention you would bring towards a fellow human being. It's always a joy to get such a detailed and thoughtful update from him about how they're doing when we're gone. David is very thoughtful, responsible, and a true lover of cats!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Austin cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
