What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I have been the regular cat sitter for my friend's and their friends! My favorite thing is of course getting to meet a new kitty, and see who they are and what they enjoy. But also being able to give them love and care, that meow when you walk through the door - cats may be fairly solitary but I've learned they also enjoy company- and also giving that peace of mind to their owners

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I love to do a meet and greet beforehand, so I can meet the cat(s) with their pawrent present, so they will feel more comfortable and at ease. Getting as much information as well to make sure the process goes smoothly, including access, their favorite toys, treats, their likes and dislikes. Anything to make sure the cats and owners feel safe and secure.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

One of my own cats (Salem) is particularly shy and scared of strangers, and it took him a long time to warm up to me- he was a stray I rescued off the street during the freeze and he spent 2 weeks living in my closet! With that in mind, time and space, and not rushing the process is key. Providing a safe space for them, respecting their boundaries and acknowledging that it may take a few visits at least for them to get used to me. I would spend time near them, no sudden movements or noises, allow them to come to me when ready. If they approached I would offer a hand for smell or maybe a favorite treat! Be patient! I have also found interactive toys helpful, and would use any pheromone products the owner requested

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
