Cat Sitting in Burke, VA

I have grown up with cats and dogs my whole life- at the same time too! Most of my life I had three cats and a dog, and made sure they were fed, walked, played with, and loved.

During the pandemic, I was a cat foster for Lost Dog and Cat Rescue. I fostered and got over 14 cats adopted over the course of a year. I handled cats who had medical issues that needed oral medication, and special diets.

I own two kitties of my own, and one of them I have had since under a year old. I spoil my own cats, and would do so for your own animals (unless you would prefer me not to!)... I have grown up with cats and dogs my whole life- at the same time too! Most of my life I had three cats and a dog, and made sure they were fed, walked, played with, and loved.

I am versatile in matching your cat's energy, so if they love to chill and hang, I'll be hanging on the couch with them. If they love to play with toys and need enrichment, I am there waiving the wand toy and throwing mouses!

I have taken both a Cat and Dog Body Language course through the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, and volunteered for a year.

I have also fundraised over $600 for the Humane Society of Portage County within 2 weeks, which provided over hundreds of animals food for a week.

I have a 5 year old tuxedo named Rory, and a 3 year old tabico named Cassandra. Both are cute little butts.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I do love a meet and greet in the cat's environment. I go through to see where all of the supplies are kept, as well as what are the favorite toys and treats.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I make sure that when I enter the house, my eyes are on the ground looking for any escape artist pets. When I exit the house, I have eyes on the cat prior to leaving.

Nicki is wonderful! From the moment we all met at the meet and greet, both of my cats felt super comfortable with her. She took amazing care of both of them and especially my little kitten who was a bit under the weather! We were all happy with her care and fantastic way of bonding with our babies :)

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
