What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love how different all cats are from one another, and how their quirks begin to show the more accquainted they become with a person. Seeing a shy cat come out of its shell is a very rewarding feeling, because you know that means you’ve gained their trust.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes! I have three cats of my own. Jaxon - age 6, Mango - age 5, and Freya - age 4. They are very much velcro cats and follow me around everywhere, which I love. My family cat, Rita, lives close by with my mom. She is nearing 20 years old which is pretty amazing, and I feel lucky to still have her around.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Working with timid cats, I typically try to give them all the space they need so that they feel safe. I will offer treats so that they know I mean well, but if they do not come to me I do not force it. From experience I’ve learned that anxious cats just need more time and patience, and it’s important that you do not come on too strong and too fast and respect their boundaries.

This was the third and longest time that Teddy cared for my girls. For just over two weeks, she gave them excellent care and attention. Each day she sent me a few photos with a mini-update, and she’s quick to respond to any messages. It’s clear my girls adore her, which means I can fret less about them and enjoy my time away. I’d highly recommend Teddy — I already have, to a friend who recently adopted a pair of kitties. Assuming she has availability, Teddy will always be my first pick for future cat sitting!

Teddy gave excellent care and had genuine connection with my kitties! she was wonderful from start to finish. During the meet and greet, even our typically shy cat came out to greet her—a great sign. Both of our cats took to her, and my more social cat, who gets lonely during the day, absolutely loved her visits. She was attentive to their needs and carefully followed detailed feeding instructions (one has a complicated medicinal history). I felt confident leaving my fur babies in her hands. Highly recommend and would definitely hire to cat sit again!

Teodora did an amazing job taking care of my two kitties! One of my kitties is very anxious and is diabetic. She was very patient with him and he started warming up to her by the end of a few day visit!! Milton is very particular so that’s amazing! She will take care of your kitties like they are her own!!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Vienna cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

This was the second time Teddy watched Mary and Franny while I was away and there will be many more reservations in the future. It was clear from the updates I’ve recieved that both of my girls (even my shy kitty) adore her!
