With over 3 years of cats sitting experience, I have built lasting relationships with regular clients while enjoying the opportunity to meet new feline companions. I am skilled in administering both topical and oral medications, ensuring that each cat receives attentive personalized care tailored to their needs.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I take pride in getting to know each cat in my care, finding joy in providing the same level of attention and affection their owners would. My goal is to ensure every feline feels secure, loved, and understood.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I do have a couple of favorites! I love it when Murphy, a Maine Coon cat is in a cuddle mood and gets up on me for some relaxation. His deep purrs nearly put me to sleep!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
In loving memory of my cats, Ollie and Delilah, who have crossed the rainbow bridge, I honor their legacy by sharing my affection with the cats I care for. Their companionship deepened my understanding of feline needs, and today I find joy in offering the same Love and attention to every cat entrusted to me.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Myadvice when hiring a cat sitter is to look for someone with proven cat specific experience, as detailed questions about their care approach, and ensure they can handle medical needs if required. A meet and greet before booking is essential to see how they interact with your cat.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
When working with a new cat parent, I begin with a thorough meet and greet to learn about their cats specific needs and routines. During this visit I take detailed notes to ensure a personalized care. I also coordinate the house key transfer and discuss any additional services I can provide, such as retrieving mail, collecting packages, or watering plants, to give clients peace of mind while they are away.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I ensure the safety and security of both the cats and the home by focusing on preparation, vigilance, and communication. This means following the owners instructions closely, maintaining secure access to the home, and keeping clear records of visits and updates. I monitor the cat's health by watching for changes in appetite, litter box use, or behavior.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am available year-round, including holidays, to ensure your cats receive consistent care whenever you need it and to ensure you can travel with peace of mind.
What is your favorite cat toy?
My favorite way to engage cats is with toys I can dangle on a string, encouraging them to chase, pounce, and play. It's a simple activity that brings joy to both the cats and me, while helping them to stay active and entertained.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I handle timid cats by meeting them at their level, speaking softly, and building trust through gentle encouragement with treats or their favorite toys. This patient approach helps shy cats feel safe, respected, and more comfortable in my care.

It was the first time I had left my two cats, and I was extremely nervous about it. I must have asked Kathy a billion questions prior to the meet-and-greet, and she answered every single one. My male cat, Chebby, is always glued to my hip, so I was really worried about how he would handle my absence. Astrid, the female cat, is overly friendly and curious, but she cries when I go just to the mailbox—let alone for the three days I was going to be away. Chebby normally hides from other people until they leave, retreating to what I call his "fortress of solitude." I didn't expect Kathy to be able to get him to come out of hiding. However, during our meet-and-greet, Chebby came out within minutes, curious to see who this new person was. He is very food-motivated, and once Kathy started giving him treats, he had met his new best friend. Kathy instantly put me at ease, and it felt good not having to worry about my cats. She sent a ton of pictures and videos and kept me completely informed. The cats didn't even seem to care that I was gone since they liked Kathy's company and they trusted her. I trust my cats' judgment. The love that Kathy has for cats is reflected in how well she treats them. I had absolute confidence that I was leaving my cats in great hands, and I was right. I am so glad that I selected Kathy to watch over them. I would hire her again.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Virginia Beach cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Kathy took such great care of my Xena. My cat is super shy and Kathy was so patient and was able to get her to come out of her shell. The power then went out and she notified me so I could get the issue fixed. This time I had to have an emergency root canal while away and Kathy took on extra days, found out I was low on cat food, then found some in our move in boxes. 👍😺😻🐈
