My schedule is very flexible and so I am available for most Holidays, if not all, throughout the year.
What is your favorite cat toy?
My favorite cat toys are strings, feathers and bouncy balls. My absolute all-time favorite for exercise purpose are laser lights.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When a cat is timid or anxious, I first try to give them a treat they love or give them their favorite toy to play with. I also just sit on the floor and let them come to me, which they normally do. I let them sniff me, rub against me, whatever they need so they know they can trust me.

Luz was absolutely incredible with my boys! It was our first time using an at-home service and she gave me so much peace of mind that my kitties were happy and safe while we were away! They were extremely timid at first but Luz was so kind and gentle with them. She showed up every day (even Christmas!) and sent pictures and videos which was also so helpful and fun to look at. She left the house super clean as well. It was an absolute godsend to find her and we will definitely call her for any future trips!

Overall, my experience was great and Trix absolutely loved her! She was actually our first overnight sitter (I think we were her first overnight stay too), and it went really well! She was very responsive, informative, and accommodating throughout the booking process. She accepted my booking last minute, did a meet-and-greet the same day I was leaving out of town, and even allowed me to edit my booking so I could come home a day early and receive a refund for that day, which I really appreciated (boooo Airbnb). The only thing, is communication could have been a little better during one visit. She had a personal matter come up (which I completely understand because life happens), but she wasn’t able to arrive during the scheduled time range and I wasn’t updated, so I was left wondering if my cat would be fed on time (she was! thanks Luz). Honestly, just a text a little bit earlier letting me know that she will probably be late to the visit because of a personal matter, but she will be there, I'd have felt more at peace. Aside from that one experience, she was amazing and I wouldn’t let it stop me from booking with her again. Trix was well cared for, and I truly appreciate how helpful and flexible she was.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:
- January 1-4: New Year's 2026
- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th
- September 4-10: Labor Day
- October 9-15: Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Williamsburg cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

I highly recommend Luz for cat sitting. Luz is wonderful with my Luna and Reggie. I am comfortable leaving her at my home to take care of my cats.
