Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My cats are Creedence and Kalimu, they are 5 and 4 years old. Creedence is a little lady, I adopted her from Seattle Humane when she was 8 weeks old. Kalimu is a playful and super affectionate sweet boy.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

When hiring a cat sitter, look for someone who not only loves cats but understands their unique behaviour and needs. Every cat is different- some are playful and social, while others need more time and space to warm up - so it’s important to find someone who is patient, observant and respectful of your cat’s boundaries. A meet and greet beforehand is a great way to see how your cat and the sitter interact. And trust your instincts- someone who listens well, communicates clearly and shows genuine care for your pet is worth their weight in gold!

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I am usually available during holidays year round and on weekends as well. I do go on vacation once in a while so check my calendar before booking!

Darice was wonderful with our cats. She gave updates on how they were doing, and even updates on how well she was connecting with our shy cat. When I got back from my trip my cats were much more relaxed than they had been on trips without a sitter. I appreciated her service, and communicating was very easy. I loved seeing the pictures and videos the most, it was nice to see the cats playing and getting attention. 😊

Darcie came to my home every day to take care of Maoji during my Thanksgiving trip. She is very friendly and responsive. she sent me Maoji’s video and pictures every day and helped me monitor her diet and puking situation. We went on vacation for a week and Darice was great! We do have friendly cats, one is a bit shier but he came around and started loving on her too. She brought in a few packages for us and sent plenty of pictures and videos while we were gone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Kirkland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
