I have been around animals my whole life and was a volunteer for multiple humane society organizations during college. I now have 3 cats myself: Booger, NuNu, and Little!
I am adept at basic cat care duties as well as administering medication: topical treatments, oral medication (pills or liquid), and inhalers.
I understand that each kitty is different and may need specialized care. I have experience with senior cats, kittens, and those managing conditions such as FIV, FELV, asthma, or post-surgical recovery.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting for 10 years now! In every place I've lived, connecting with other cat parents has been a major source of community as well as being able cat sit for each other. Fun fact: as an overnight sitter the most cats I've cared for all at once was 8 cats under one roof!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I make sure I am vigilant for any kitties trying to run outside when I enter or exit the home. I do a head count of all cats first thing after I arrive and last before I leave. I double check that all doors and windows are securely shut and locked.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Sudden change is hard for both humans and kitties! I approach timid cats with patience and create a calm environment.

Shan is a truly great cat-sitter! They have cat-sat for me many times, and my cat Little loves and trusts them. When Little was sick with pancreatitis they were an amazing support for me, looking after him while I was working and administering his medication. They will truly go the extra mile for a cat, and they love to spend hours on cat enrichment, brushing and playing and entertaining. They are very knowledgable about cats, and I trust no one more when it comes to taking care of my cat.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Seattle cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
