What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have about five years of experience as a pet sitter for friends and family, having cared for various cats and dogs with diverse needs and temperaments. In addition to my pet-sitting experience, I've volunteered at local animal shelters and humane societies as a preteen and again as an adult, where I honed my skills in feline care. I have been cat-sitting on Meowtel for three years, and in that time, I've had the opportunity to care for cats with various personalities and needs. I genuinely enjoy providing the best care for all the sweet kitties I meet.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I find great joy in cat sitting because of the unique bond I develop with each cat. I like creating a comfortable and happy environment for them, whether it's through playtime, cuddles, or ensuring their well-being. I think my biggest joy is getting a previously shy cat to warm up to me throughout the reservation. As a cat person and cat mom myself, meeting new kitties and making sure they are happy is the best job I could have.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes, I am a proud cat mom! After graduating from college and settling in my apartment, I adopted a black cat named Ms. Eglantine Price and she is my baby and my best friend.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
I would recommend customers look for a cat sitter with experience in handling cats, or even better, they own cats themselves. A good cat sitter should understand cat behavior and be able to recognize signs of distress or illness. This ensures they can respond appropriately to your cat's needs. I'd also recommend choosing a cat sitter who asks for a lot of information and advice during the meet and greet and communicates effectively. Regular updates, including photos or messages about your cat's well-being, can provide peace of mind while you're away.

Yep, I am! I never really travel out of town for holidays or special occasions so I’m always available for cat sitting!

Alexa was incredible with my newly diagnosed diabetic kitty. She successfully gave her all her medicines- syringe in mouth, insulin injection, pills, etc. She messaged me all the updates and asked me about clarifying questions which gave me so much peace of mind. she followed all of my instructions(which I had many as an anxious diabetic cat mom😅). thank you so much Alexa!!

if I could give more than 5 stars I would. My poor boy ended up having to go to the emergency vet and having back surgery. Alexa did an amazing job communicating and working with the vet when he was sent home before I got back. So glad she was there!!!

From the first contact to when we got home...communication has been timely and personable! Alexa visited our home to meet the pride and we were instantly at ease with her demeaner and knowledge! During our trip she kept us up to date with many picture of all the kitties and informed of anything going on with the house, such as garbage service and package delivery. When we got home, the house and kitties were all happy...it was like we had never left, the pride was not stressed and all the kitty boxes and garbage's were clean! I cannot say enough good things...she is amazing!

If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Vancouver cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Alexa did a fantastic job carrying for our 3 kitties while we were on vacation. We booked twice a day visits which helped my kitties get used to having a stranger in the house. She communicated well, sent lots of pictures and videos ever visit and even coaxed my shy kitty or from under the bed for some belly rubs.

Alexa was fantastic! I originally booked her for one overnight stay, but when I unexpectedly had to extend my trip, she was flexible and happy to stay a second night on very short notice. She quickly won over my shy cats and gave each one exactly what they needed, whether that was playtime, brushing, or just quiet pets. A couple of my cats have quirky medical needs, and Alexa was in constant communication so I could guide her through anything that came up. It is very obvious that Alexa loves cats. I have a very shy male cat and she was patient with him and won him over. At first he would hide under the bed when she visited and she laid on the floor and played with him under the bed! Alexa was amazing with our cat! She kept us totally worry-free during our trip by sending updates and cute photos every hour or two. It honestly felt like we were right there with her 🥹 Our cat is usually super shy, but Alexa somehow has win her trust and make her hang around 😅 Alexa followed all our instructions precisely, left the place spotless, and even stayed longer when our return got delayed. Alexa did an amazing job caring for my cats. I have 2 senior cats that require medication, inhaled and injected, and she charmed the shy ones and did a great job with meds, litter boxes, play time, everything. From the very beginning she showed incredible patience- not just with us (the overly detailed cat parents!) but also with our youngest kitty, who usually takes a long time to warm up to new people. I have difficult “pandemic kitties”. One is terrified of strangers and the other gets spicy with strangers, despite them otherwise being sweet and cuddly girls. Alexa was wonderful! She was super responsive and communicative, she sent lots of pictures and a video from each visit, and she gave me such great piece of mind that my Howard was in great hands. You can’t do better than Alexa to take care of your kitties. ❤️

Alexa was wonderful with our cat Gregg - he took to her right away at our first meeting, and was not shy with his headbutts during her visits! Great communication - she lets you know when she's heading over, when she arrives, and gives quality photos and video with her updates. I recommend her if you're in need of a compassionate, friendly cat sitter who enjoys what she does!

My cat was very happy upon our return. I usually get an earful and the cold shoulder after a trip, but not this time. She had no complaints! I was grateful that Alexa was willing to learn how to administer an inhaler to my asthmatic kitty and gave me regular updates on that and her other medication. The house was left in great shape as well for our return. I would highly recommend Alexa

Alexa did an awesome job with our senior cat, Wilson. He's been on antibiotics and this was our first trip away since losing our other kitty. Alexa went above and beyond to ease his anxiety (and ours). We received detailed updates with photos and videos. Highly recommend!

Upon meeting Alexa, she was thorough and had a list of questions to cover based on my profile of the pets. She is extremely kind to our kitties, and they took to her quickly. Alexa's updates during her stay with the cats was detailed to everything that had been asked, and allowed us to rest knowing they were in such wonderful hands. The photos and video we received made us smile, and were a joy to get daily 🙂 This was our second reservation through Meowtel, and our expectations were blown away. We plan on booking with her again in the future. Our kitties were happy to see us, and were not angry with us for leaving. That's how we know this was a perfect fit!

Alexa was absolutely amazing! She was able to accommodate a reservation on very short notice after we had to unexpectedly be out of town, which we were incredibly grateful for. Not only did she take wonderful care of our cats, but she also went above and beyond by handling extra details like refilling their water fountain and adding fresh litter after scooping. It gave us such peace of mind knowing our cats were in such thoughtful and capable hands. Alexa is everything you could wish for in a cat sitter—so attentive, caring, and an excellent communicator (providing thoughtful and informative daily updates with photos and videos). Alexa really put us at ease and allowed us to really relax and enjoy our vacation knowing our cats and house were safe and secure. Our cats loved her, even the 2 that are harder to win over. We definitely will hire Alexa again for future cat care needs!
